They wish they had gotten a regular house, but they're nearly 60 years old and have another 19 years to pay on this particular mobile home.

Man, I wish I didn't know that.

30 years to pay off a mobile home? My parents paid off a house in 20. And why, oh why, do you make an investment like that when you're in your 50s?

And to think, he actually had a legit job opportunity with a Coca Cola bottler and still choose this no name MLM company without even looking at the former.

Oh goodness. This shouldn't keep happening. Why are so many of these scams present in Oklahoma?

This whole thread journey reminds me of the book Nickeled and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich... such a good, but depressing book about exactly the same things Bushie is going through... the sad sad state of prospects for the unskilled labor force in this country... and how it erases every bit of dignity you have while you are worked to the bone with no benefits.  They'll work you until your body can't take it and needs help.. but f**k if they'll pay the medical bills!

Bushie... you need to just go get a job at Wal-Mart or something.  The pay is super sh**tty... but you can buy over priced health insurance and have some vestige of job security.  Wal-Mart isn't going anywhere... and if you are halfway decent, they'll promote you and give you 2 peanuts instead of 1.

He hasn't said he got the job yet, but I'm just waiting for the this will be different, its actually legit...

I do have the job now, and report tomorrow 9:30-6:30.  While, yes, you are correct that this is actually Rainbow Cleaning Systems, and I will function like I did with Kirby, I am actually guaranteed an hourly salary with this one and I will make sure I get it in writing when I go in for orientation tomorrow.  If they don't give it to me in writing, I'm walking right out the door and will not return Wednesday.  If, on the other hand, they do give me the $16.36 an hour as they promised, I will do whatever they say.  If they say jump, I'll ask how high.  The main reason I left Kirby back in early September was because they were wanting to work me 7 days a week and laughed when I wanted a day off to let my body rest.  This guy at Rainbow today said that I can work whenever I want for a minimum of 30 hours per week.  He prefers we put in 40, but he wants at least 30.  I know I probably could have found a better opportunity, but right now I need something that will pay the bills, even if it is selling vacuum cleaners.  I know it's a dirty job (literally!), but I'm gonna do it.  I'm going down there tomorrow morning with a more determined focus.  I wasn't really focused with Ameriplan or with Kirby back late last summer, but I will be focused here.  I should have come out and said it earlier, I admit, but at the time I was still coming to grips with the fact that I would be presenting cleaning systems.  It took some time for me to get used to the idea, but I accept it now and I will embrace it.  As far as the $16.36 goes, I have every intention to believe that, because he said today that my check will be no less than $981.60 every two weeks, possibly and probably more.  It's all based on how much I work, not on my performance.  This isn't MLM, this isn't profit sharing or a commission job, it is a salary.  If you divide $981.60 by $16.36, it comes to 30 hours.  I plan to work 40 hours, so my check should be more than that $981.60.  He said I have a flexible schedule, so I am going to choose to work 9:30-6:30 M-F.  I can always change that if situations arise.  If I'm sick in the middle of the week, I'll just go in Saturday.  As my Dad said, "at least it's not a call center.  It's a whole different line of work than you're used to, and it may not be the most pleasant or what I would have picked, but hang on to this one with all you've got.  Don't let the Oklahoma wind knock it out of your hand.  Believe in yourself and you can do it.  It may be vacuum cleaners, but hang onto it anyway, your Mom needs to retire."  Mom reiterated the same thing.

Oh, and intermoderate, I did fill out an application at Coca-Cola this afternoon, as well.  They said it might be a week before i hear anything.  I haven't heard back from that call center or that order puller place, yet.  So I'm pretty much crossing them off the list.

This guy is amazing. It's like he's completely ignoring that this is a scam, and even ignores that Ameriplan and Kirby were as such! The reason they failed was because he wasn't determined enough! BushOK, you're killing me! I'm going to die young!

I went down to Norman to figure out what that $16.36/hr job is.  It's actually not at all what any of us thought, nor as scary or questionable.  It is a mix of receptionist and general labor for Rainbow Play Systems, helping build playground equipment.  My hours are a lot better than where they have been with Sprint and Convergys - 9:30-6:30 M-F.  It said no experience necessary because he wants to teach us from the ground up.  I will know the answer by 6:00 this evening, but I am very confident in how I did in the interview.  If he calls me and hires me, I will report to work at 9:30 tomorrow morning!!  The first paycheck will come April 1 and every two weeks after that.  They do offer full benefits starting May 1.

uh was this a lie you made up?

While Bushie is an intriguing character, his story lacks three act structure and climax.  He learns nothing.

1.  Why did you initially say this was about playgrounds??

2.  What the hell makes you think any company, and one in Oklahoma no less is going to pay $16.36 an hour with no experience??

3.  This is commission, this is sales, the $16.36 an hour does not exist.  Get that through your thick head.

4  You deserve everything that happens.

Just do a search of Rainbow Vacuums... it's pretty shocking.

As I would tell anyone when applying for a job... do your research on your prospective employers!!! Sweet Jesus man!!!

Oh so this is basically just Kirby 2.0 in other words.

Well got to give the writers credit, they can recycle a plotline and still keep it interesting.

We have been down this road before.  Bushie lacks the very basic of job search skills.  #1 of which is research the perspective employer.

Also, OF COURSE this job was for Rainbow Cleaning Systems and not Rainbow Play Systems.  Rainbow Play Systems doesn't have "scam" as one if its search recommendations on Google, so it clearly wasn't the right kind of job for him:

Every single time he says he learns from previous mistakes he repeats the same mistake over and over again.  It really is quite astonishing.

Funny, I type in rainbow cleaning systems in Google Search and this is what I come up with

rainbow cleaning systems
rainbow cleaning systems reviews
rainbow cleaning systems windsor
rainbow cleaning systems ireland
rainbow cleaning systems inc
rainbow cleaning systems price
rainbow cleaning systems sale
rainbow cleaning systems northern ireland
rainbow cleaning systems norman ok
rainbow cleaning systems uk

I know you get the scam with a singular "system", but not with the plural form.

I typed in 'rainbow cleaning system' into google and scam was the third option...

Maybe turn 'safe-search' off...
