Happened as my bf and I were walking down the street.  A young african american fellow was staring and said "only in America". Then that was followed up by "all y'all oughtta kill yourselves."

Then a cathcon looking dude in sunglasses just says "yeah, f**k that guy" to us.

Have you suffered this?

Yes. But that wasn't a question of sexuality.

Of course.

What did you do in response?  Did you yell anything back?

Not really. I've had stares if I hold a bf's hand. On a few occasions I've had families that are walking toward us, see us, and then decide to quickly walk to the other side as if we had the plague.

I think it's because my urban area is pretty liberal. The number one place where I see gay couples is Disneyland.

I was refused a spot at a table, and I have been called a f****t a time or two, at school especially.

Yes, I had my arm around my boyfriend on the bus and an aggressive looking guy kept giving us death glares and shaking his head.

Generally my boyfriend tries to avoid public displays of affection precisely because of this, which I kind of hate. I understand why he's afraid, especially because he's so tiny, but I think it says something pretty disgusting about society in general that something as innocent as holding hands has to necessarily become an issue of discussion or reconsideration.

Especially when we have ers like CountryClass telling everybody we're "flaunting it" by doing what every single straight couple would do.

That's called being bullied into submission.  Which is what they want.

I didn't say it's the action I'd take, but holding hands is a consensual affair.

Adam is so gay that he is solely responsible for the 2012 North American Heatwave.

As a transgender I get the looks, especially from kids and teens. It's a part of life and I don't take it personally. I don't think I've ever been denied service though, that's very rare in large metropolitan areas.

I meant it's classic bullying.  They have bullied him into hiding his sexuality and affection for you because they can only hate.  And they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Ah, I see. Full agreement from me... it's really sad. Sad

I've gotten the anti-gay jokes and comments as part of the suspicion that I am gay, but since I'm not out I have not suffered discrimination or intimidation at the aforementioned levels.

At least not yet

I wonder what percentage of posters here are LGBT...

My guess would be around 50%

Goodness, the Atlas is being overrun with us. Hello! I like to think of the looks as important ways of making people comfortable with unusual gender expression. It's all a part of the trans agenda.

My boyfriend tries to avoid PDA as well, though I think that's because he came out relatively recently (around a year ago.) I'd probably have felt the same way if I got a boyfriend less than a year after coming out, so I don't blame him.

Anyway, no. Randoms/casual acquaintances just assume I'm straight usually.

By my count, we already outnumber the biological women on Atlas. lol Pleased to meet you! Smiley

Yeah, furrowed brows and squinty eyes are huge improvements if you've ever been in a fight over your gender identity. I kinda enjoy it actually, there's nothing like going clothes shopping and getting glares from biological women because I wear a smaller size than they do.

I was harassed for it before I'd even come out to myself. Ah, year 7, how I do not miss thee.
