While over half of the Republican electorate has an unfavorable opinion of him, there's still 25% who like him.  If those 25% vote for him, he'll be basically doubling the second place person.

Of course, once the field coalesces he's screwed.  However, I certainly think its possible for him to poll at the 10% or so necessary to be in the top tier of candidates.
