She probably realized you were going to ask her to tell you what SCOTUS had decided on the AZ redistricting case, and wanted to avoid having to deal with you.
She was the guest of honor at the dedication of a new law school building at the U of Michigan, who also happened to be the time of my class reunion, so I was able to hear her speech, and Q and A session with law students. She was most impressive - and candid. Among other things, she admitted that the block voting on SCOTUS on the divisive cases was a problem, and that it concerned her.
