I personally find it pretty hilarious how he went on a moral outrage about AAD no other poster even came close to considering he: 1-hadn't been here that long anyway and 2-started out as a quasi-troll some wanted banned and had no reason to have such an attachment. Furthermore also funny how he asked to be banned once it came out he was so upset about it he was actually reporting posts linking to it even though even the mods didn't care.

Anyway, he wasn't completely awful or stupid or anything, he just had a massive stick up his arse. Worse, his pugnacious attitude would sporadically crumble to reveal lengthy angstposts, showing that he was not only smug but spineless.

I think the better question is "Why isn't abusing the report system in the way he did not infractable?"

Because it isn't. However, way back when, when a poster really went wild with the reporting system in abusing it, the Cave told such a poster to cut it out, as it was considered an annoyance and harassment. But generally for those few posters who make a considerable number of meritless reports, or where there are feuds between posters going on, there is just derision in the Cave, and the comment that there goes X again. Such reporters I suspect probably generate a bias against their reports being acted upon with other than no action.

I've found that "cut that sh*t out" works better than "lol this guy again". Bacon King wound up doing that to a certain poster (whose name will remain nameless) in the IRC who was frivolously reporting posts, and from what I've heard, it seems to have worked.

What I don't get is why someone who was only around the forum for about three months was so emotionally attached to it they considered the thought of a separate forum to be unfathomable and something that just MUST BE STOPPED. And requesting to be banned instead of merely ceasing posting is proof of more spinelessness and lack of control.
