Sandersmentum is gaining steam:

Bernie Sanders, who’s emerged as Hillary Rodham Clinton’s chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, drew an estimated crowd of more than 5,000 people to the University of Denver on Saturday night for what appeared to be one of the largest political rallies of the 2016 cycle.

Sanders, the self-described democratic socialist senator from Vermont, delivered a fiery speech in a packed university gymnasium, where he decried the greed of the billionaire class, saying it is “destroying this nation.” Besides the more than 3,000 people in the gym, others listened in an adjacent atrium, where speakers were set up, and on a nearby lacrosse field, where the speech was streamed on the scoreboard, according to university officials and campaign aides.

Get ready to collapse, Hilldog.

Wow that is a large crowd. Now I want to see what Colorado Progessives are thinking in the polls. We have seen Washington and New Hampshire Democrats are open to an alternative. Could Coloardo be next?

Let's not forget the WI Dems, who only handed Hilldog a 49-41 win recently in a straw poll.

The movement is building and is on track to wipe her out ... again.

100% serious.

Even the most die-hard Hillary-enablers and bubble-ists should start getting nervous at this sight.

Iowa hates Hillary, New Hampshire is next to Sanders' state, Colorado hates Hillary, you can't count the ultra-liberal west coast (WA)

The excuses keep mounting, but Hillary has to perform in the primetime eventually.

wow only 5,000 came out in support of getting money for free?

91,000 people voted for nader in 2000. Id say he's underperforming among his own far left fanbase.

and Ted Cruz recently won a New Hampshire straw poll, I guess that means he has a chance there, yes?

Straw polls mean almost nothing.  Rally numbers mean very little.  Haven't we learned this in election after election?  Anecdotal evidence is essentially useless.  The best actual evidence for Bernie Sander's success is that he's 10 points behind in New Hampshire poll.

Look at the Republican side, Bush is called the favorite with a lead of less than half of that in New Hampshire.

IMO, this is Sanders' ABSOLUTE ceiling in the Democratic primary.

Green - Sanders
Red - Clinton

You're way underestimating him in the small western caucus states. The Democratic machine there is weak and unorganized.

That being said, that still leaves him WAY short of even making it close.

He's also underestimating the true leftist suppression of the black vote to help blacks get what they need. Without them, a Sanders sweep is possible.

Again, he's the Ron Paul of Democrats. He could pick up a huge crowd at University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Except a lot of his positions are in line with most Democrats. If he were 10-20 years younger, invested in a comb, and didn't call himself a socialist, he'd be a very serious challenger.

You do realize that if he wins both Iowa and New Hampshire he will be the front runner, and then have huge momentum, right?

Wisconsin held their primary already? Wow, that's news to me.

Democrats as a whole should start getting nervous, while Republicans get excited.

Or at least they would if any of this actually meant anything in the long run.

Shocking, there are lefty liberals in the Democratic Party.

BTW, another Vermont native (Howard Dean) was getting crowds of 10,000 in the summer of 2003
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/08/27/us/in-a-long-presidential-race-dean-sprints.html

But getting big crowds doesn't mean that Sanders will ever be able to topple Hillary. He may be able to get a lead with white men, but they are only 25% of Dems. The rest is split between white women and non-whites and I don't see Bernie ever being able to win over either group.

Not to mention the fact that Hillary actually WON that poll...

Ron Paul had bigger rallies than this all the time. How did that work out for him again?

I agree with you completely, IceSpear. HILLARY IS INEVITABLE. Hillary being inevitable is not necessarily a good thing IMO (although Hillary is not that bad either), but it's the truth.

I remember all the Paulbots believing that he'd win the nomination just because he had bigger rallies. Having bigger rallies doesn't mean sh**t lol. That just means that Sander's base is enthusiastic about him, but the rest of the party is not going vote for the dude. According to polls, most of the Democrats that oppose Hillary are opposing her from the right, not the left IIRC. Hillary is very popular among her party, and she can appeal to nearly all Democrats.

Screw it I say. Just let the Bernie fans live in their own world.
