a little late for this... but I was wondering about the US vs. UK party breakdown.   Everybody vote for Blair when he wins Smiley

This would be England-oriented, as including the NI, Scotland, and Wales parties would be more complicated.

Whatever party fits my ideology best. If not for the fact that Labor will win anyway, I might consider voting Labor over the Iraq issue.

You're the one voting for a socialist party with a center right head...who may not be there for his entire term.

And you're the one voting for a centrist party with an anti-American socialist nutcase head.

Tory, though I don't want to see Howard as PM.

(Ye olde reduced Labour Majority option).

I voted LD in this poll, but it's way more complicated in real life. I'd basically have to take tactical considerations, Labour MP (if any)'s Voting Record, and every left-of-center third party candidate's personal credentials into account.

I posted my methodology in another thread. Basically Labour or Lib Dem, depending on which one I considered better or who had a better chance of winning.

Whats with the GOP-Labour lovefest?

Tony Blair won't be there forever, or much of this next term...then we'll see how much you love Labour.

You're right, we won't love Labour once Tony is gone.

But Tony is still there, so we love Labour.

So essentially hand the socialists another 4-5 years of government, with only 2 or so years of Tony. If he's fortunate.

In the U.S., I would vote for the Democrats, and in the U.K., for the Conservatives.

Almost the opposite for me - in the U.S. my vote currently leans Republican (but not by much) while in the U.K. I could happily vote Labour. Tongue

I would vote entirely by how much I liked the candidate.

The only party I can catagorically rule out is the Liberal Democrat. They combine the worst of the Labourites (peace-Nazis, anti-American and EU-loving, economically Socialist) with the worst of the Tories (singularly snotty and elitist).

Imagine a Lady Bracknell without the sense of timing, and there you'd have a Liberal Democrat.

LD would be my first preference, with Labour as the alternative option FPTP always requires.

Not being an american, thereŽs no comparison... though IŽd vote Democrat there. -6 Socially and 0 Economically.
