Advanced, aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Breaking.

Hogan says there's a strong chance of success with chemotherapy.

Wish him the best in getting through this.

I hate to be conspiratorial, but I'm rather curious if this was covered up during the campaign.

Anyway, best wishes.

Relax. To the best of my understanding, if it were, he would have, very likely, been dead by now. From the description it looks nasty. And these things can happen very fast. I knew a guy who felt sick on Wednesday night, went to doctor on Thursday, was hospitalized on Friday, fell into coma on Saturday, was buried on Tuesday.

Best wishes to the governor!

I'd expect him to start chemo right away after diagnosis, and we would've noticed hair loss during the campaign. I doubt he'd postpone chemotherapy to hide the cancer.

Exactly. It is either that, or he would have died by now.

For a very tragic case of this actually happening, see George Wallace's wife and fellow governor Lurleen.

I hope this dude gets better, as does everyone but these threads always seem so weird to me. Everyone's got to repeat the same thing or what? People are gonna think you're pro-cancer?

People will think you're a jerk with no sense of moral character or even the rudest element of basic decency?

It really depends on the specific type of cancer more than the stage how well it responds to treatment. I know someone who had stage 4 lymphoma, and I believe non Hodgkins. He's been in remission for 3 years.

Also doesn't NHL have a pretty high survival rate. I mean the majority of people who get it seem to be diagnosed at Stage 3 and it still have something like a 70% survival rate.

It's not like he has parcratic or lung cancer both of which seem to be have 95%+ mortality rates.

Prayers for Governor Hogan and his family too!

if I don't empty quote that for the umpteenth time, does that mean that I support Hogan dying from cancer?

You support him dying of cancer sadly because he won't know your well wishes. Instead, you should wish that he dies in a fire, because then he won't have succumbed to the cancer.
