The Democrats' playbook for beating Burr is probably similar to the one Republicans used against Hagan: flood the airwaves with attack ads early, defining the relatively anonymous Burr. In doing so, they'd raise his negatives and put him on defense.

Looks like it's going to take a very favorable atmosphere/a big blunder by Burr to flip this seat.

Burr is lucky that, even aside from the Presidential race, the Governor's contest is likely going to overshadow his.

It'll be like 2010. He will go with ease unless something cray happens. I think these candidates will at least do something mentioning and worthwhile of a challenge though. I may vote for Cal Cunningham if he get's it. If not I see Foxx getting it if he runs and suffers a Harvey Gantt fate.

Marshall was a terrible choice in 2010 so anyone can do better.

Foxx has already said he's out, and he's assured Burr he won't run against him.
