Do you think NJ and NY will swing slightly Republican in 2016? These two states had sharp dem  swings in 2012 and in the gubernatorial election in 2014 astorino cracked 40% against Cuomo. In NJ Christie got 61% in 2013. What do you think?  What caused this? How will 2016 play out?

A lot of moderates on the coast were impressed with how Obama handled Sandy, so I do think the Obama 2012 margins in NY and NJ were a high-water mark.

Astorino was running against Cuomo, who isn't that popular to begin with, and was, relative to the type of candidate that the national Republicans will run, moderate.
