Hasn't come remotely close to that.  But it *has* shown me how impatient with and intolerant I can be of certain views.  Not a great thing for someone like me, who is supposed to be prepared to debate everything openly.  I'll try to do better with that in the future.  If the old saying about real friends are those who can make us aware of our flaws is correct, then, in the big picture, the forum is a friend.
