What's wrong with DK elections?  DailyKos is obviously garbage, but DailyKos elections is for all practical purposes its own thing.

As much as he should be removed for this, he won't you need a 2/3's senate vote which unless he loses considerable party support they won't get. Also this will replace him with the senate president who is also very conservative

The difference is that Michael Thibodeau doesn't try to be the cheap knockoff version of Chris Christie.

He would only replace him for a year, until an election can be held in 2016.  I think he wants to do it.  Get to be Governor for a year, and he could even win reelection to the seat.

Whose fault is this? The Democrats? Liberals? Obama? I know it will eventually be blamed on everyone except LePage.

Seems to be very impeachable. Even Chris Christie knew that he should not be boasting about such things. This guy is a nut.

And we've gone peak LePage. Good riddance to a truly awful governor. Hopefully in a presidential year Democrats will have a very good chance of picking up the seat, and even if they don't at least it won't be held by LePage anymore. Perhaps we'll get to see Michaud 2: The Return?

And just for the record, Republican Senate President Michael Thibodeau (who would succeed LePage until the 2016 special) said in a statement he was "very saddened by this situation and shocked by what is being alleged," so it definitely looks like his own party is ready to toss him overboard too.

Would it be possible to recall him rather than impeach him? I'd much rather have a Governor Michaud or Cutler replace him than Thibodeau.

Paul LePage may be the most mentally unbalanced state chief executive since Earl K. Long (D-LA). But unlike Earl, I doubt LePage is wily enough to escape from a mental hospital and eventually return to power.

He's a nut, and very off balance, but his style is tough. Gov. LePage will probably be gone, but he will fight this.

Meh, while 2010 was due to Cutler, odds are LePage would have won reelection even without Cutler in the race.

Corruption is hardly a unique trait among current Republican governors. Scott, Christie, Haley, Walker, and Brownback all have issues, too.

Addressing this issue, he should probably just resign.

Troy Jackson gets my endorsement. He was robbed by the DCCC and would have beaten Poliquin easily.

And because Washington wants to stick with Emily LePage for 2016, they're setting up Poliquin's career better than he ever could.

If by "smeared by leftist radicals" you mean "pretty openly admitting to extorting a school for troubled children to punish a political opponent, in addition to all his other 'colorful' comments" then yes, he was smeared by leftist radicals.

And that's exactly what Maine needs right now.
