Ah a lawsuit over whether the "morals, don't bring the organization into disrepute" clause in the contract encompasses controversial comments on public policy issues. Interesting. This one should be a barn burner. I wonder what the case law precedents are.

Leading Republican presidential candidate goes into all out war against the leading Spanish speaking network over racist comments about Mexicans...Reince Preibus must be banging his head against a desk somewhere. Trump's anti immigrant anti-Mexican talk is like Todd Akin's 'legitimate rape' comment. It is going to tarnish the party with an entire group.

I am surprised that Bush has yet to call out Trump over this. He must know how much coverage Trump is getting in the Latino press. He could win big points for attacking Trump over this. Is he waiting to score points in the debate? Does he think he should just ignore Trump? Is he afraid of the nativist base?

There may be a way to keep Trump out of the FOX debate. One of the requirements is that a candidate "Must file all necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission"  As of now Trump has not filed his financial disclosure. He has 30 days to do so from the day he filed his original candidate papers. He is allowed 2 extensions by the FEC, however if FOX wanted to they could say they will only accept those who have filed the financials. This assumes Trump is going to seek an extension. Also it would effect others. For example, Rand Paul has asked for an extension (but he may have his in by the debate). Other late entrants like Christie, Kasich and Walker may also not have their financial paperwork in by debate time.

The Miss USA pageant is crumbling before our eyes, thanks to Trump-Latino tensions:

I'm pretty sure Bush, along with every other serious Republican contender for President, is deliberately ignoring Donald Trump. They have more to lose and less to gain in a dispute with Trump. He isn't worth the time or energy.

Well, I feel a bit bad for the contestants, as I am sure some of them are fine individuals, but I guess that's what happens when Donald Trump is in control of things.

Mr. Trump is daily in every Mexican newspaper these days. I can only imagine, what is happening in Spanish-language media in the US. He is THE election news now - at least, in Spanish.

To paraphrase the man himself...it's HYUGE here too. He has his own section on the biggest Los Angeles Spanish language newspaper site (with banner link on front page)

I still think Bush is missing a big opportunity to denounce Trump's comments.

BTW, a new easy attack line on Trump is that if he is so great at negotiating deals, how come a week after announcing for prez he lost big deals with NBC and Univsion, couldn't he negotiate to keep it?

Things continue to escalate in what has essentially become all out war between Trump and Mexico. Today's skirmishes:
Mexico pulls out of Trump's Miss Universe pageant

Carlos Slim's Ora TV Severs Ties With Donald Trump, Calling His Remarks About Immigrants "Racist"

Donald Trump Hits Univision With $500M Miss USA Lawsuit, Network Calls It “Ridiculous”

...and yet the GOP field continues to remain mum over Trump. Although that may not last for long. Strangely it was FOX and FRIENDS that broached the subject with Ted Cruz, who said Trump was 'terrific' and he shouldn't apologize for his Mexican comments

Today in Trump v Mexico....

Macy's Cuts Ties with Trump: 'No Tolerance for Discrimination'

Golf bodies (PGA, USGA, etc): Trump comments ‘do not reflect’ our views (released statement after he said they backed him up)

Trump doubles down on raping Mexicans comment to CNN 'well somebody is doing the raping'

Also Pataki has taken on Trump and implored his fellow candidates to do so also in an open letter. And of course Trump responded by saying Pataki 'couldnt be elected dogcatcher'

Univision is becoming kind of a joke in itself but why can't the GOP find a loophole to bar this guy from debates and party functions?

No, because Univision settles for half, 250 million, which pays for the trump campaign, and gives the model for how Mexico will pay for the wall, and, that jeb comes to the table with nothing.

The reason why Trump is republican and not a democrat candidate is that he has very little tolerance for the weak entitlement class of excuses and homosexual proclivities'. The latter is my assumption, I do not think Trump is secretly a homosexual.
I think Trump would prefer to be a democrat candidate however the tolerance level is beyond any rational future.

I like what Governor Bush said, and he was very diplomatic in stating that Trump isn't a moron, which he is.

The fact that Donald Trump is considered a legitimate Republican shows a failure of the media to hold this man accountable. He isn't successful because of his own doing, he's successful because of government corporate welfare policies, bailouts, and generous bankruptcy laws that have enabled him to use what money he already had to expand in ways small business could not. Additionally, Trump is a socialist who once supported a wealth tax and socialized medicine, he is still a protectionist who would have left Saddam Hussein in power.

Bottom line: Trump is a bigot, a sociopath, an egomaniac, and a socialist and I'm tired of this entertainer running for President. This nation is hurting, and this guy makes bigoted comments and takes air time away from serious candidates like Jeb Bush and Scott Walker.

They would, probably, both start barking and howling at the moon within 3 minutes.

I like what Governor Bush said, and he was very diplomatic in stating that Trump isn't a moron, which he is.

I remember hearing the late Norman Schwartzkopf answer a question about his assessment of Saddam Hussein  as a leader during the first Gulf War. "For someone not a soldier, general, strategist, tactician, politician, or statesman, he did well".

Donald Trump has never held elective office and never had a cabinet post. He can satisfy people in his limited area of competence... but the limits are obvious.

Donald Trump is more a showman and promoter than a diplomat.

American media are now almost uniformly awful in journalism. They know how to dial the knobs on the psyche of people who read the tabloids or watch TV. They have segmented to fit the sensibilities of polarized, partisan audiences at the expense of objectivity. I question whether some of them insist upon two sources or upon fact-checking. (An excuse is made for official sources which are considered definitive).

Few challenge crony capitalism ("socialism for the rich"), perhaps because they fear the loss of advertising revenue from crony capitalists. In-depth coverage? Sure -- if it is breasts and hips of attractive women.

If the media did their job (FoX News certainly won't) they would grill all Republicans. The attempt to make the legislative process secret in Wisconsin, even if Scott Walker tried to keep some distance from it, portends the sort of secretive government we would have if the Koch syndicate won the trifecta of the Presidency, theHouse, and the Senate in 2017.
