Leading Republican presidential candidate goes into all out war against the leading Spanish speaking network over racist comments about Mexicans...Reince Preibus must be banging his head against a desk somewhere. Trump's anti immigrant anti-Mexican talk is like Todd Akin's 'legitimate rape' comment. It is going to tarnish the party with an entire group.

I am surprised that Bush has yet to call out Trump over this. He must know how much coverage Trump is getting in the Latino press. He could win big points for attacking Trump over this. Is he waiting to score points in the debate? Does he think he should just ignore Trump? Is he afraid of the nativist base?

There may be a way to keep Trump out of the FOX debate. One of the requirements is that a candidate "Must file all necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission"  As of now Trump has not filed his financial disclosure. He has 30 days to do so from the day he filed his original candidate papers. He is allowed 2 extensions by the FEC, however if FOX wanted to they could say they will only accept those who have filed the financials. This assumes Trump is going to seek an extension. Also it would effect others. For example, Rand Paul has asked for an extension (but he may have his in by the debate). Other late entrants like Christie, Kasich and Walker may also not have their financial paperwork in by debate time.

Mr. Trump is daily in every Mexican newspaper these days. I can only imagine, what is happening in Spanish-language media in the US. He is THE election news now - at least, in Spanish.

To paraphrase the man himself...it's HYUGE here too. He has his own section on the biggest Los Angeles Spanish language newspaper site (with banner link on front page)

I still think Bush is missing a big opportunity to denounce Trump's comments.

BTW, a new easy attack line on Trump is that if he is so great at negotiating deals, how come a week after announcing for prez he lost big deals with NBC and Univsion, couldn't he negotiate to keep it?

Things continue to escalate in what has essentially become all out war between Trump and Mexico. Today's skirmishes:
Mexico pulls out of Trump's Miss Universe pageant

Carlos Slim's Ora TV Severs Ties With Donald Trump, Calling His Remarks About Immigrants "Racist"

Donald Trump Hits Univision With $500M Miss USA Lawsuit, Network Calls It “Ridiculous”

...and yet the GOP field continues to remain mum over Trump. Although that may not last for long. Strangely it was FOX and FRIENDS that broached the subject with Ted Cruz, who said Trump was 'terrific' and he shouldn't apologize for his Mexican comments

Today in Trump v Mexico....

Macy's Cuts Ties with Trump: 'No Tolerance for Discrimination'

Golf bodies (PGA, USGA, etc): Trump comments ‘do not reflect’ our views (released statement after he said they backed him up)

Trump doubles down on raping Mexicans comment to CNN 'well somebody is doing the raping'

Also Pataki has taken on Trump and implored his fellow candidates to do so also in an open letter. And of course Trump responded by saying Pataki 'couldnt be elected dogcatcher'

It seems that over the holiday weekend the GOP field suddenly noticed Trump and pretty much all of them has chimed in with attacks on him to one degree or another. Cruz seems to be the lone holdout who continues to defend Trump. He seems to be banking on Trump eventually flaming out or dropping out and he wants those voters.
