So you would vote for someone who voted to invade Iraq?

But not for someone who wants to keep the Confederate flag over cemeteries?

The Confederate flag is a greater injustice than the Iraq War?

I would vote for Clinton but not Webb, either. Webb seems scarily hawkish when it comes to the Far East, and a war there would be x1,000 worse than Iraq.

Obama, Clinton, and Webb all essentially have the same stance on the Far East.

Sorry to break it to you but I am able to care about more than one or two issues at a time.

What issues other than the Confederate flag make you unwilling to vote for Webb? Are any of them worse than the Iraq War?

Haha, so because he defended a flag, you'd literally not vote for him?  I hate that flag, and I'd prefer my party's nominee condemn it, but I wouldn't vote on such a hilariously small thing, especially if he or she agreed with me on important things...

I don't know honestly, i'd have to see more of how his positions unfolded in the general to be honest. As of today the only Democrat that I could see voting for in the general would be Sanders. Before anybody asks, i'm a registered Democrat but I just don't identify much with the current party.

No, they don't. Webb has been a lot more aggressive on confronting China. Neither of the other two have compared the PRC to 1930s Japan. Webb seems to have a fetish against China. Given his pro-war stance on Vietnam, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a racist. Of the three, I think Clinton would be most reasonable, actually.

Also there's the fact that Webb endorsed Bush in 2000, and if Bush had not won I doubt Gore would have invaded Iraq.

Um yes he is. He might as well be the Southern Avenger himself. He loves the racist flag and is a triangulating neoliberal warmongering racist. Jim Webb is probably more racist than Donald Trump. Think about it.

One also has to compare their differing positions-Obama and Clinton have/had national leadership positions, causing them to be far more guarded in their language. As I've said, what Webb, Clinton, and Obama would do are the same-namely continue the "pivot to Asia" strategy of increasing military American military presence there, strengthen economic ties with or without TPP, continue to use strong diplomatic language against China, etc. The quotes from Webb in your link support this-he has the stance of the typical American internationalist, not Curtis LeMay.

Yes he's so racist against East Asians that his wife is Vietnamese.

That's a valid point, although that at best puts him on an equal level with Clinton in terms of responsibility for Iraq.

Considering your basis for claiming Webb was racist against East Asians was essentially that he was hawkish against China, what sort of evidence would you want? How is this any different from True Leftists claiming Hillary hates brown people because she voted for Iraq, is pro-Israel etc.?

I said I wouldn't be surprised if he was. Not that he was. Your claim that his wife as Vietnamese as a defense is hilarious though. In my experience guys who are super into East Asia are more likely to be racist, strangely enough.

Webb's bad guy because he voted for Bush who did the Iraq War. Even though Webb himself denounced the Iraq War before it happened.

Hillary Clinton voted for the Iraq War directly. She's just fine for some reason?

You know he actually has a pretty decent record of supporting prison reform and civil liberties right? I agree that his rebel flag comments were pretty stupid but don't make him out to be George Wallace.
