Another monster Labour majority in Easington. Tories finally regained Newbury.
Good news for you Earl; LibDems hold Cheadle

Yes, I saw the count on BBC World. Woohoo!

Labour is looking good right now.

I think there's a net loss.  maybe that's not surprising.  but there's talk of losses of seats to two parties.  I suppose it's all in the spin.  or it's in whether you bet the over/under or took odds.

now they seem to be switching back from analysis to results.

I also like that the BBC uses the normal color scheme, like dave uses, instead of the nouveau Fox News-inspired opposite scheme that's all the rage in the usa (e.g., "red state") just now.

Phil's idol was re-elected fairly safely I see

Phil's British political idol.  Wink  I didn't get to see the results yet though. I'll have to check the BBC site.

Oh and I just want to state that I'll be angry if that clown Galloway wins.

I guess george will be calling tony by now to say howdy partner and congrats.

"The result in Bethnal Green and Bow, scene of a bitter battle between anti-war Respect leader George Galloway and Labour's Oona King, who voted for the Iraq war, is due at 0200."

what the hell does that mean in american?  2 am? in greenwich?

I believe Labour forced a female candidate to be selected, so Law ran as an independent.
