Bad for Labour, though many of us (myself included) had it down as a Tory gain.

Labour 66
Conservative 4
Liberal Democrat 3
Scottish National 1
Others 0

It really, really isn't - the marginals are swinging at 7; If this keeps up, its [cutoff]

Tories just took Newbury looks like

Manchester Withington has set a new swing record, and I belive it beats even the 97 records. I haven't got the exact figure yet, but I've heard in excess of 20%

I'd just like to say that I called Solihull correctly and that therefore I obviously rule, especially over Al who said I was mad when I suggested it to him a few months ago.

What party did you vote for Pete? I peg you somewhere between soft Labour and light Tory, but I could be wrong. I don't think you'd vote LibDem...but most certainly you'd vote BNP ! Tongue Cheesy

I would vote Labour in a competitive constituency, or Conservative if the candidate was sane (e.g. Francis Maude in Horsham). However, my seat (Oxford West and Abingdon) is a Lib Dem-Con contest with no real Labour challenge. I thus voted Green to help the poor guys save their deposit - unfortunately, they once again fell short with 4% of the vote.

I voted Labour in the County Council seats.

...Wirral West by over a 1000 votes, so I'd like to know why this took so long. Crawley by 37 votes. Pete's sources were pretty good.

Thats a third recount figure as well; From what I'm told the Labour majority went 79 then 31 and then finally 37.

That is Harlow - its a Labour seat, but with the swings we've been seeing I imagine they are in need of recounts to get a result.

It might well go Tory; I won't call it at this point, so read of that what you will.

The Staffordshire South election has been postponed due to the death of a candidate. By-election in a few weeks.

Anybody want to bet that he'll join the UK Conservative party and seek a UK seat at some point?

I've just found out that the Harlow count has been suspended until tomorrow - apparently it is really that close; Lead is presently with Labour but it may be no more than a few dozen.

More likely Torbay/Winchester-sized. A few dozen isn't that close.

From what I understand, there are ballot irregularities in play here also: I feel a Court challenge coming on.
