I once fed a bear fish while volunteering at the zoo, but I haven't experienced one in the wild yet.

I was walking in the woods with my dog and we startled a bear but my dog knee it was there and basically chased it off.  I just saw a glimpse of it as it ran off.

When I was little I was playing in the sand and I looked up to see a bear cub in a tree.  It was terrified.  We got pictures of it and it eventually crawled down and ran away.

Only once. It was.....horrible. To emotionally recover I wrote and directed this autobiographical short story retelling it.
