Even when they're from a grade-school kid.

There was a time when Atlas was heralding Walker as some sort of conservative Uber-candidate.

Not by me. He's going to find his candidacy a very painful experience, and it will basically end his political career I suspect. I wonder if he will ever show up for an interview with someone not in the Fox News orbit. If he does, it probably won't be pretty. Heck, he should worry even about getting near to Chris Wallace. Chris tends to get impatient with dumbs.

His problem although not as severe, is that he has the Palin disease. He just doesn't know very much, and probably doesn't like to read much, and when he does, finds he has reading comprehension problems. We live in a complex age, have complex problems, and it just takes someone who can handle it all, and well, that disqualifies about 90%-95% of the population, including Walker.

My guess is that over time, some of his support will fall off to the establishment choice, and some to Cruz (who is smart, albeit demagogic) . We shall see.

Oh please, for most conservatives the stupider a candidate is the more appealing they are.

He should get some glasses.  That'll make him smarter, right?

Actually, Walker did sort of answer the question about climate change, when the kid persisted after the failed brush off about keeping campsites clean like a good boy scout would as it were (man, if I were that kid, I would have asked him if he is always so condescending to kids, and assumes that they are all as stupid as he is, or something). He said I want to "make sure that we have all the natural resources available."  So the answer basically is "no," he doesn't much. Next question! It's time to move on.

It looks a lot like Bush, and that's good. Republicans have the goldilocks problem, "way too conservative, not conservative enough, too Tea party, not Tea Party enough, too libertarian, not libertarian, not Christian enough, too Indian, too establishment, not establishment, too educated & not educated enough". That's what happens when you are spoilt for choice, you are dumbass, too caustic, too young, from Florida, from Texas, from New Jersey, from Wisconsin & from Kentucky. There seems to be a problem with everyone of the declared & undeclared.

I mean 2012 Rick Perry. 2016 Rick Perry wears glasses, so he's smart now.

I don't know, he was elected 3 times in a blue state, seems pretty politically savvy to me.

2010/14 = republican waves
2012 = he ran on a campaign that was basically "the recall provision is being abused by democratic activists", rather than touting his actual platform and views.

I'm more concerned with whether he won vs how he won.  He isn't my #1 choice for the nomination, but he is battle tested, and that is something that's very important

Napoleon was more battle-tested than anyone else at Waterloo.

Hillary doesn't even talk to reporters. But yeah, Scott Walker's the bad guy.

The problem with this logic is that this election is Hillary's to lose, so she is justified in not answering questions, whereas whatever GOP candidate will have to fight tooth and nail for a chance at the nomination and general, so these guys have to go out there and not screw up.

I can't believe there was a point where I bought into the possibility that this doofus could become the GOP nominee.

I'm all for another round of "Scott Walker Isn't Ready for Primetime Theater" but that link and quote isn't exactly objective journalism. And what candidates say to kids isn't really relevant. That being said, if you watch the video he is very clear in his second answer. On the issue of climate change he feels getting America "all the resources" is what is important.
