Ted Cruz disagrees though:

Apparently this isn't one of Torie's times to be right today.  Tongue

Damn, first he gets out-smarted by a 7 year old then he gets out-saned by Ted Cruz. Walker's having a pretty good week at connecting with the GOP base.

What would this accomplish? Obama and Clinton would still veto it.

Jeb Bush has also signed on for 'the nuclear option'
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-06-26/nuclear-2-0-jeb-bush-is-open-to-ending-the-senate-filibuster-to-repeal-obamacare

But this is all just pandering to those going through the stages of grief over hopes they would end Obamacare. By 2017 at least 10% of the country will be directly covered by Obamacare (kids on parents plans, expanded Medicaid and via exchanges). There is not replacement plan that will keep all those people covered without including the things GOPers say they hate (taxes and mandates). And they arent just going to kick 30 million off coverage. Plus there are tens of millions who are now protected against losing insurance over pre-existing condition and lifetime caps. It's over. Time for GOPers to move on to 'reform' not 'replace,' as noted by David Frum. ANd of course Walker and Bush know all that but they are in the pandering season.

The filibuster is a check on the majority's power and shall remain. Walker doesn't know what he's talking about on this issue.

It's also a block on a certain pathology of politics analogous to the old Torno in Spain. In essence, one Party gets a majority, undoes everything that the previous government did, starts prosecuting about every key figure in the previous government with politically-charged courts sending the offenders to prison, and then starts pushing its own radical agenda. The majority government then goes too far, gets corrupt and unresponsive except to increasingly-narrow constituencies, and is defeated by the other Party as people get sickened of the recent results. Then the other Party does much the same once in power. There is no continuity in government.

Although the filibuster can foster gridlock, gridlock is the best check upon radicalism and despotism of any kind.

It depends on the clock. Like this one is correct only 4 times every 28 years.

None of them seriously think this is a good idea (same thing with abolishing the Supreme Court to 'save money'); they're obviously only promoting these idiotic agendas in order to pander to the conservative base. As soon as the Supreme Court rules in the GOP's favor or the Democrats regain the Senate, everyone in the GOP clown car will reverse their positions and start maniacally defending the filibuster/Supreme Court just as maniacally as they've been attacking them in recent days.

Looks like Huckabee, Jindal, and Perry are cool with this idea as well:

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/07/filibuster-divides-gop-2016-contenders-119750.html?hp=b1_l3

In general, it seems the governors in the race are open to it, while the Senators are not.
