Hey, if there's a W vs. Cheney thread on here, why not a Clinton vs. Gore one?

As for me, i'd have to go with Bill.   While I find him to be a repulsive human being, atleast he is sane, I can not say the same thing for Mr. Gore.

Gore, purely because he's more liberal.

His brand of liberalism, the 2000 election, his arrogance. I can't stand the man.

Yes, it was disgusting how he gave in in 2000.  He should have at least lambasted Bush as illegitimate on the way out.

Absolutely correct.  The only problem with Gore (besides the 'flip-flopping' problem) was that he gave in too soon.  I would have been willing to stand weeks more news coverage about Florida recounts, but no, we had to give into the conservatives who didn't even win in the first place.

Anyway, I would prefer Gore to Clinton, though neither would be particularly good choices.

Gore. Gore cares about solving national problems; Clinton cares about his own political success.

My point had nothing to do with recounts, it had to do with sending the right tone for the Bush presidency - the illegitimacy factor should not have been dropped throughout the term.

Well, let's be realistic... It's not like Gore could have kept on talking about Bush's illegitimacy after the 9/11 attacks.

Clinton, mainly for this reason.  Both have wives that scare the living HELL out of me, although Tipper does more than Hillary.  I think Clinton would probably be better with economics than Gore, and less of a foriegn policy hawk.  Still these are crummy choices.

Agreed. If we are going to apply pressure to candidates to concede quickly because we don't want to hear the wrangling for the truth, we don't have much hope as a democratic society.
