While the 538 endorsement tracker is good for seeing where the establishment of a party is, maybe they should expand it to include celebrities. Getting the endorsement of Oprah is worth more than any governor, and getting a Duck Dynasty guy or Chuck Norris on your side has got to be worth something. And what about former politicians? Shouldn't an Al Gore or Sarah Palin endorsement be worth something?

... It's already been posted here, hence why I posted it in a new thread for discussion. Does all discussion go here?

Sorry, but your post seemed to be part of the already ongoing discussion about the Bentley endorsement. Also, you cannot post entire articles as that violates copyright and gets other sites peeved.

I watched the show and I'm not sure how much of an endorsement it was. He did say that he was going to donate to his campaign and liked him but he also talked about how the Dems had "two great choices," noting it was like having the option of "chicken of fish" and saying that in the end "if you can't get the chicken, you can have the fish".

HuffPo breaks it down

As of now nine Democratic Senators have not endorsed anyone. Hillary has the endorsement of all the others (except Bernie of course)

The available D Senators...
Brown – OH
Cantwell* – WA
Coons – DE  (had endorsed Biden)
Menendez – NJ (under indictment so no one probably wants his endorsement now)
Merkley – OR
Reid – NV
Tester – MT
Warren* – MA
Wyden – OR

* signed letter encouraging Clinton to run

Rubio is on a roll, thats 3 Senators in a week, matching Bush. And Bush's last Senator endorsement came in August. Bush still has more reps, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rubio passed Bush this month on the 538 endorsement tracker.

To be fair, Gregg actually just endorsed Jeb!.

I was talking current Senators. Former Senator Alan Simpson also recently backed Jeb. But the recent wavelet of current Senators for Rubio could indicate a feeling for the current establishment who are actually working in Washington now.

The 538 endorsement tracker only tracks Reps, Senators and Governors currently in office.

So far Hillary has got the endorsement of over half the Dem govs.

The remaining govs to endorse are...
Steve Beshear - Kentucky
Jerry Brown - California
Kate Brown - Oregon
Steve Bullock - Montana
Mark Dayton - Minnesota [edit: he already endorsed Clinton]
David Ige - Hawaii
Jay Inslee - Washington
Earl Ray Tomblin - West Virginia

Tomblin probably wont endorse anyone. Beshear may not endorse anyone while he is still in office.

Since the CNBC debate 5 members of congress have made endorsements (3 senators and 2 reps), and Rubio has got all 5.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) won the endorsement of the American Postal Workers Union on Thursday

For those playing National Union Bingo, the score so far (Clinton v Sanders):

Clinton
National Education Association (3m)
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (1.3m)
American Federation of Teachers (1.6m)
International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (570k)
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (520k)
International Union of Operating Engineers (375k)
United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinkler Fitting Industry of the U.S. and Canada (330k)
International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (104k)
International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (76k)
Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association (39k)
International Longshoremen's Association (65k)
United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers (22k)

Sanders:
American Postal Workers Union (200k)
National Nurses United (185k)
United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (36k)
National Union of Healthcare Workers (11k)

taking a look at the 538 Endorsement page, it seems Hillary has picked up quite a few in the last week...

11/17   John P. Sarbanes   Rep. (D-Md.)   1
11/17   C. A. Dutch Ruppersberger   Rep. (D-Md.)   1
11/17   Donna F. Edwards   Rep. (D-Md.)   1
11/17   Alan Grayson   Rep. (D-Fla.)   1
11/16   Ruben Gallego   Rep. (D-Ariz.)   1
11/14   Jay Inslee   Gov. (D-Wash.)   10
11/14   Suzan DelBene   Rep. (D-Wash.)   1
11/14   Denny Heck   Rep. (D-Wash.)   1
11/13   Joe Donnelly   Sen. (D-Ind.)   5
11/13   Eleanor Holmes Norton   Del. (D-D.C.)   1
11/13   Ann Kirkpatrick   Rep. (D-Ariz.)   1
11/11   Corrine Brown   Rep. (D-Fla.)   1
11/11   Gwen Moore   Rep. (D-Wis.)   1
11/11   Tony Cárdenas   Rep. (D-Calif.)   1

Biggest loss there to Sanders is probably Grayson.

On the GOP side in the last week there have been 2 endorsements, the previously mentioned Steve King for Cruz and Luke Messer (R-IN). for Bush.

The Union Leader endorsement might help (then again their endorsee usually loses the NH primary more often than not, just ask Presidents Gingrich, Ashbrook DuPont, and Forbes).

LA Times reported list of all endorsements from California
http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-presidential-endorsements-congress-california-20151130-htmlstory.html

It included a few new ones not previously reported.

Duncan D. Hunter endorsed Huckabee

Hillary has five new ones:
Pete Aguilar
Maxine Waters
Jerry McNerney
Anna G. Eshoo
Jackie Speier

These new names gives Hillary 452 'points' on the 538 Delegate tracker, making her the most endorsed Dem in their history (going back to 84). She has more endorsements now than any Dem ever had at the time they secured the nomination.
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-endorsement-primary/

It has got to the point where it is now noteworthy when a Dem hasn't endorsed Hillary, like how the media is talking today about how Elizabeth Warren was the only female Dem Senator not at a Clinton Fundraiser

Now it appears that Alan Grayson isn't entirely sure if he has endorsed Clinton
http://floridapolitics.com/archives/196990-alan-grayson-has-not-endorsed-hillary-clinton-despite-membership-on-her-florida-leadership-council

Feels like he was getting flack from Bernie fans and so now he is trying to have it both ways, saying nice things about both (but he is still part of Clinton's Florida "Leadership Council")

Assume you are referring to former TX Senator Phil Gramm.

The old-school TX establishment definitely is not a fan of Cruz
