Although it might not be as interesting as some of the other stuff that people want to try and dream up, this is probably what's going to happen.

Not if Cuomo really doesn't want him to.

And regardless of how people feel about him here, Cuomo still holds far more sway in the state party than De Blasio does.

Yes, even if Cuomo really doesn't want him to.

Cuomo isn't God. He just thinks he is.

Cuomo can make De Blasio a failed Mayor and then fund a challenger. It's very simple.

Fact is, De Blasio has always been seeking a war with Cuomo, from day one where he refused to take Cuomo's funding for Pre-K without the tax hike he wanted. Every time something doesn't go his way, he insults and attacks Cuomo. Well, now he has the war he wants, and it's not going to go well for him.

Sounds like Republican fanfiction to me.

Bill DeBlasio defeats Republican John Catsimatidis by 15 points

He beat Lhota by almost 50%.  And, Joe Lhota was the moderate, more popular and polished candidate who beat Catsimatidis in the primary.  And, Joe Lhota doesn't look like this.

Bloomberg routinely had approval ratings in the low 40s, and he won re-election twice.
