I'm glad there's resistance.
Arkansas has one county clerk currently who is "waiting on word from Above" as to whether she'll issue a SSM license; no one has applied yet in her county. I consider this to be an issue.

I really hope she's referring to her supervisor and not the one and only G oh double D

I hope she's referring to the One and Only God.

 ?

No I mean the One whose coming back on the White Horse with.... I think Isaiah 66 explains it much better. That would be Jesus.

I have more reason to believe in Santa Claus. And at least Santa Claus doesn't twist his followers into spreading hate and bigotry.

It's down to the 4 last states. 44 holdouts plus 10 unconfirmed counties in AL, AR, KY, and TX.
Source/Map?

This link posted above.  Now 37 holdout and 7 unconfirmed counties in those same 4 states.

Bad news: 2 counties in Georgia have stopped marriages altogether.

On the bright side, more counties in Texas have legalized SSM.

That gives us 29 Holdout counties and 6 Unconfirmed counties.

Rumor on the street is that doctors have been issuing more Xanax prescriptions than ever to Republicans who are still throwing a temper tantrum over gay marriage.

Georgia is back to 100%

There are 27 holdout counties and 9 unconfirmed counties in the same 4 states as earlier (AL, AR, KY, TX).  Alabama has most of the roughly 800,000 people who live in a holdout county.

Yes, two counties in Texas have joined.

That makes a total of 26 holdouts and 5 unknown. In several of these counties, all marriages are banned. (most of them are in Alabama)

Still unchanged. It's been 3 1/2 weeks. Kind of crazy there's this many holdouts.

Also, what's the holdout county in Arkansas?

Alright, down to 20 holdouts and 4 unknown, and Arkansas is out of the picture.

Two of the recent counties were in Alabama.

The biggest holdouts have been Native American nations - with the Cherokees and the Navajos as the top 2 (300.000 each). How is it going with them?

If I remember correctly, aren't required to obey the ruling, because of tribal sovereignty.  The idea is that indigenous nations are not bound to the U.S. Constitution because they existed before the United States and are rightfully sovereign nations.

I'm glad for the resistance because it is a righteous one. MLK would stand on my side.

Makes sense, but it makes them by far the largest communities without gay marriage in the US. I have seen a figure of one million Native Americans living in nations that do not recognize same sex marriage. The Navajo nation alone dwarfs the remaining redneck holdouts.

Down to 20 holdout and 2 unknown now. Alabama has 12 holdouts, Kentucky and Texas each have 4. One county in both of the later states have joined.

Combined, the remaining states make up 0.13% of the population.

Come on Alabama, it's been over a month now.

Absent the national guard forcing every county office to comply, there will be at least 1 holdout county in AL for all of time. Even hundreds of years from now, there will still be at least 1 holdout county in AL. I'm completely serious.
