Phil Boswell (SNP - Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill)

One of the new intake; achieved one of the biggest swings (36.3%).

Sir Peter Bottomley (Conservative - Worthing West)

One of the longest serving MPs, having been in the House continuously since 1975. First represented Woolwich West and then its successor Eltham until 1997 before moving to the safe seat of Worthing West (which I'm sure had nothing to do with the fact that he faced certain defeat in Eltham). Served as a Minister under Thatcher. Has been about a bit too. Here's the most bizarre bit of his Wiki entry:

He was also a member of the Green Party despite disagreeing with their policies on the environment, energy and gay rights...no, not really. But you get my point.

Is he the Conservative guy signing most the Early Day Motions?

Why would Bottomley join the Monday Club if he's not a fan of apartheid or bigotry? I'm guessing he's a staunch anti-communist, and isn't a fan of the EU?

The answer to that conundrum is that Bottomley is a deeply weird man with many contrary tendencies. Like Jeremy Corbyn he hails from Newport in Shropshire.

Karen Bradley (Conservative - Staffordshire Moorlands)

Has the grand title of Undersecretary for Modern Slavery and Organised Crime. Contested Manchester Withington in 2005 where the defeated (by the Lib Dems) incumbent Labour MP was Keith Bradley (no relation AFAIK).

Also, she isn't the Vice-Chair of any football club. Tongue

This is how the Government website describes her responsibilities. I like the use of the word Commons in brackets at its very particular place......

Responsibilities
CSE/CSA (online and contact)
extremism (Commons)
mental health
modern slavery
VAWG
FGM
public protection
ASB, gangs, youth violence
hate crime
Parliamentary champion

Is he any relation to Horatio Bottomley?

Ben Bradshaw (Labour - Exeter)

Formerly a BBC correspondent, he was elected in 1997 following a bitter and homophobic campaign. He was the second openly gay MP to be out at the time of election; the first was Stephen Twigg in Enfield Southgate (21 minutes earlier). Has held the seat (one that, prior to 1997, had only been won by Labour once; Gwyneth Dunwoody in 1966) ever since. Served in the Cabinet during the later days of the previous government. Currently running for the deputy leadership as (probably) the most right-wing candidate; he even vaguely looks like the man himself.

It's also notable that Exeter is the only Labour seat in the South West - the rest is solid blue after the total Lib Dem wipeout there in May.

Is Bristol no longer in the West Country? Have you heard them speak?

I stand corrected; Bristol is in the West Country. I should have said Devon or Cornwall.

Mickey Brady (Sinn Fein - Newry and Armagh)

At last we have reached Norn Iron. He was also an MLA for the constituency of the same name between 2007 and 2015.

Newry-based, bemulleted former member of the Workers' Party (aka "the Stickies" or, more politely, "the Officials", SF's often deadly rivals in the 70s and 80s within Northern Republicanism). Has never set the electoral world alight at Assembly level, limping home into the last seat in 2011, barely ahead of the SDLP.

Essentially kicked upstairs into the Westminster seat, with his more high-profile predecessor as MP, Conor Murphy, returning to the Assembly in a job-swap. Continues a trend of SF replacing more active figures with reserves on the Westminster team.

Very sensible of them.

At least until the Assembly gets put into cold storage, which looks possible at the moment.

Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat - Carshalton and Wallington)

Served as Deputy Leader of the Commons during the last Parliament. Was lucky to hold onto his seat (his words not mine).

Julian Brazier (Conservative - Canterbury)

(Yet another) Army veteran, Cornerstone Group-er. I recall seeing him on the news a lot around the time of the gay marriage votes.

An old relic is fitting for Canterbury.

Kevin Brennan (Labour - Cardiff West)

Shadow Minister for Education. Son of a steelworker and a school dinner lady, so obviously a champagne socialist. One of those people who looks like quite a few other people.

It was once suggested of Brazier that in his army days he had taken on parachute drop too many and landed on his head. I think that about sums him up.
