Mary Creagh (Labour - Wakefield)

Born in Coventry, led Islington Council for several years and now MP for Wakefield. Yeah, she's been around a bit. Shadow cabinet member throughout the previous parliament. Briefly ran for Labour leader this year. Few people know what she stands for.

Least of all herself.

Stella Creasy (Labour/Co-Op - Walthamstow)

Former Mayor of Waltham Forest. Came second for deputy leader in September. Known for taking on payday loan companies. Very active on Twitter. Very much on the right of the party but seems to be liked by many left-wing members (including myself, actually).

Tracey Crouch (Conservative - Chatham and Aylesford)

Minister for Sport. Seems to be a social liberal.

Jon Cruddas (Labour - Dagenham and Rainham)

An intellectual Soft Leftist, he contested the deputy leadership in 2007 and didn't come far away from winning. Fought the BNP, who were fairly strong in his constituency (though not as strong as in Barking of course) and UKIP achieved their best Greater London result there this year (30%).

John Cryer (Labour - Leyton and Wanstead)

Son of Bob and Ann Cryer - both former Labour MPs. A member of the Socialist Campaign Group and current Chair of the PLP. A Eurosceptic. Previously held the seat of Hornchurch from 1997-2005 before winning the more reliably Labour seat of Leyton and Wanstead in 2010. Will perhaps be the Hard Left candidate in the next leadership election.

Oh yeah, and I want to mention that the former MP for the Dagenham seat was Bryan Gould - prominent Labour figure from about the mid 80s to 1992. Why do I bring him up? Well he was something of a Blairite-before-Blair for most of his heyday before running as the left-wing leadership candidate in 1992. Now he's back in New Zealand and a couple of months back wrote a blog post attacking Corbyn.......for being too moderate. Haha.

Alex Cunningham (Labour - Stockton North)

Replaced the de-selected left-winger Frank Cook in 2010.

Cruddas is one of the people who were urged to run in 2015, he's a weird one who like Creasy attracts support from across the party, and is extremely hard to place in the party

Jim Cunningham (Labour - Coventry South)

Selected for 1992 for the preceding seat of Coventry South East after Dave Nellist was expelled for being a member of Militant. He only narrowly scraped to victory in a close three-way contest between him, the Tory and Nellist. Named as one of the best-behaved MPs in regards to expenses.

Rochdale likes electing real charmers, doesn't it?

Byron Davies (Conservative - Gower)

Former Met Police Detective and Member of the Welsh Assembly for South Wales West. Gower was quite possibly the most painful result for Labour of the night.

Chris Davies (Conservative - Brecon and Radnorshire)

The seat was gained in May after having been held by the Lib Dems since 1997.

David Davies (Conservative - Monmouth)

Former member of the Welsh Assembly for the constituency of the same name. He is of course often confused with the far more well-known David Davis and so he is known as 'TC' (his middle initals) or 'Top Cat' by opposing MPs. Oh, and he is very much on the right of the party.

Geraint Davies (Labour - Swansea West)

Previously MP for Croydon Central between 1997 and 2005. Seems to be quite a prolific legislator.

Glyn Davies (Conservative - Montgomeryshire)

Gained the seat from the Lib Dem 'character' Lembit Opik in 2010 in one of the shocks of the night. Davies is a bit of a character himself and runs a popular political blog. The Lib Dem vote held up relatively well this year, probably an effect of the big swing in 2010.

James Davies (Conservative - Vale of Clwyd)

A GP. This was another painful Welsh loss for Labour in May.

And don't worry, there are only another 7865 MPs with the surname 'Davies' to go.

Mims Davies (Conservative - Eastleigh)

A Eurosceptic who gained the seat from the Lib Dems despite the Lib Dems holding it in a by-election in 2013. A former leader of the ALP made a pathetic attempt at a political comeback here, btw.

Philip Davies (Conservative - Shipley)

A fairly well-known and outspoken right-winger who is one of the few MPs liked by Peter Hitchens.

Is a member of the Taxpayer's Alliance, the Freedom Association and the Campaign Against Political Correctness. Oh, and his father is Peter Davies - the former English Democrats Mayor of Doncaster.

David Davis (Conservative - Haltemprice and Howden)

A minister in John Major's government. Two-time failed Tory leadership contender; on the second of those occasions he ed up his frontrunner status by making an inept speech at the conference. Following that defeat he became Shadow Home Secretary...until he resigned his seat and triggered a by-election over the issue of mandatory detention for terror suspects. He was once, it is fair to say, a fairly bog-standard Tory right-winger, but nowadays he's almost something of a Ron Paul-esque maverick who criticises the government on issues of civil liberties and foreign policy.

Martyn Day (SNP - Linlithgow and East Falkirk)

Was a Councillor prior to his election to Parliament this year.

Odd thing on his Wiki page:

I was under the impression that Westminster elections are held under the FPTP system.
