A former professional musician. First elected this year after a tough battle with the Greens (the incumbent Lib Dem MP saw his vote collapse hilariously and came third).

Bizarro-Homer Simpson lookalike. Likely to take over at least the nominal leadership of the DUP (with Arlene Foster becoming First Minister) after Peter Robinson retires in the New Year.

Elderly, Glasgow-born, Donegal-resident veteran Republican who has been the semi-absentee MP here since taking the seat in 2001 from a UUPer elected in 1997 on a freak split Nationalist vote.

Not sure if Blairite is exactly accurate even if she's very much on the Right; she is obviously one of Watson's people in ShadCab.

Jeffrey M. Donaldson (DUP - Lagan Valley)

Formerly in the UUP and was leader of the anti-GFA faction. Also represented Lagan Valley in the Assembly.

Nicknamed "Daniel O'Donaldson" for his resemblance to a well-known Irish country & western singer. Seen as a coming man and scourge of David Trimble during his time in the UUP before defecting with much fanfare to the DUP. Has gradually subsided without trace since.

Re: Dodds

Bizarro-Homer Simpson lookalike. Likely to take over at least the nominal leadership of the DUP (with Arlene Foster becoming First Minister) after Peter Robinson retires in the New Year.

Has now disclaimed any leadership ambitions in the DUP with Foster now expected to take over the leadership next week.

Stuart Donaldson (SNP - West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine)

Age 23, middle name Blair. The seat could be dicey for the SNP next time.

Michelle Donelan (Conservative - Chippenham)

Gained the seat from the Lib Dems this year. Stood (unsuccessfully, obvs) in Wentworth and Dearne in 2010.

Nadine Dorries (Conservative - Mid Bedfordshire)

Any need to say any more? Well, probably, as she isn't quite as high-profile as she was a few years ago.

She is a 'character' on the right of her party, one who has described the Prime Minister and the Chancellor as "two arrogant posh boys". Doesn't like the Speaker either. She became well-known to the general public by appearing on some terrible 'reality' show (not that there is any such thing as a 'good' reality show), which resulted in her being suspended from the parliamentary Tory Party.

Steve Double (Conservative - St Austell and Newquay)

Ousted the Lib Dems' Steve Gilbert this year. Seeing the name of this constituency will make members of CAMRA quite thirsty I would imagine.

Stephen Doughty (Labour - Cardiff South and Penarth)

Elected in one of the more forgettable by-elections of the previous parliament. Ironically, he was a founding member of the band Out of the Blue.

Jim Dowd (Labour - Lewisham West and Penge)

German-born, former whip, was involved in a weird controversy over Worcester sauce a couple of years ago.

Peter Dowd (Labour - Bootle)

Former leader of Sefton Council. Rather old for a new MP (58).

I'm still surprised Nad the Mad wasn't deselected. Probably they wanted to avoid some attention whoring indy campaign.

Also cried during Hillary Benn's speech, and pushed Bob Andrew Mitchell up against the wall of the commons bar

I would love for her to become the Tories' Corbyn in 2019/2020, just to see the meltdown that would ensue.

Jackie Doyle-Price (Conservative - Thurrock)

Wafer-thin majorities in both of her elections. This seat was the 'lolthreewaymarginal' result this year; in 2010 it was Hampstead and Kilburn and in 2005 it was Watford.

Richard Drax (Conservative - South Dorset)

An Army veteran (so unusual for a Tory, eh) and a former journalist who was elected in 2010.

It was surely a shock that Labour came within a whisker of gaining this in 1997, an even bigger shock that they gained it (by a whisker) in 2001 and a bigger shock still that they increased their majority in 2005 to outside of whisker range.
