Tom Elliott (UUP - Fermanagh and South Tyrone)

Led the party several years prior to entering the UK Parliament in 2015, amusingly enough. Also, as is common for a NI MP, represented the constituency of the same name in the Assembly.

This seat is quite famous; it is pretty evenly balanced between unionists and nationalists, often springs up tight majorities and it's where hunger striker Bobby Sands was elected in a by-election in 1981. Elliott himself could well fall to tactical voting next time.

Stereotypical UUP type - big farmer from Fermanagh - with reputation for rudeness and ignorance. Famously as UUP leader announced that he would not attend either a gay pride march or a GAA match (Gaelic football and hurling being sports preferred by the Catholic/Nationalist side in Northern Ireland). Expressed delight back in 2004 when the county Gaelic football team's championship run ended with a semi-final defeat because the loss would apparently put manners on local Catholics.

Michael Ellis (Conservative - Northampton North)

Was selected in an open primary; last year he was up against two former Labour MPs - Sally Keeble and Tony Clarke (the latter standing as a Green...though he actually represented the South seat). Seems to really hate potholes.

Jane Ellison (Conservative - Battersea)

An Undersecretary in the Health department. Used to have a habit of contesting absolutely hopeless seats. Battersea is an example of a London seat in which modern demographic changes have pushed the seat away from Labour.

Which is the norm in that part of London, actually. And is directly related to shifts towards Labour in nearby inner suburbs.

Louise Ellman (Labour/Co-Op - Liverpool Riverside)

Chair of the Transport Select Committee, Jewish and a member of Labour Friends of Israel (like her fellow Liverpool MP Luciana Berger).

Tobias Ellwood (Conservative - Bournemouth East)

Army veteran, likes to speak his mind. Foreign Under-Secretary.

Charlie Elphicke (Conservative - Dover)

Seems to be a bit of a maverick type.

Natascha Engel (Labour - North East Derbyshire)

Berlin-born. A Brownite who likes to serve on committees.

Shadow Minister for Small Business, former amateur hockey player.

George Eustice (Conservative - Camborne and Redruth)

A former UKIPer (stood for them in the 1999 Euro elections) and has maintained something of a maverick status, having opposed the pasty tax fiasco (and as was asked at the time, how on earth did that not bring the government down?!).

Neil Kinnock's old seat, of course.

Graham Evans (Conservative - Weaver Vale)

Former police special constable who has perhaps the dullest Wiki article of any MP (even including the 2015ers who have one sentence!).

Nigel Evans (Conservative - Ribble Valley)

Former Deputy Speaker who resigned after allegations were made about him. One of those who were reasonably high up in the Tory party in the pre-Cameron days before fading away.

David Evennett (Conservative - Bexleyheath and Crayford)

He was the only Tory to have lost his seat to Labour in 1997, fail to regain it in 2001 but then regain it in 2005. The guy he defeated to first become an MP (for the preceding seat of Erith and Crayford) was, ironically, a man by the name of James Wellbeloved - who had defected from Labour to the SDP.

Poor man's Boris Johnson in just about every way. A Eurosceptic with a socially liberal streak. Previously represented the somewhat more Labour-friendly seat of Mid Staffordshire - which he re-gained for the Tories in 1992 after they had lost it in a famous by-election dominated by the poll tax issue. My favorite quote about him comes from Nick Robinson - "He's not even a household name in his own household."

An unnamed Staffordshire MP who liked to brag about the number of parliamentary divisions he attends was described in Tony Wright's Very Short Introduction to British Politics as a prize buffoon and used as an example of why journalists should not assume that turning up in division lobbies = doing a good job. I wonder who he had in mind.

Michael Fallon (Conservative - Sevenoaks)

Current Defence Secretary. Held various ministerial positions prior. Previously the member for Darlington (1983-1992) where he lost the seat to another notable politician - Labour's Alan Milburn. Fallon is on the right of the party and for some reason is the go-to Tory to make absurd claims in the media about whoever the Labour leader happens to be.

If it's about him, That really is hugely unfair to Fabricant, who is a genuinely popular & passionate Constituency MP with some reasonably progressive views on key topics. At the very least the people of Lichfield don't seem to view him as a lazy or unworthy representative.

Paul Farrelly (Labour - Newcastle-under-Lyme)

An ex-journalist, he has been the MP here since 2001. Came pretty close to losing last year; probably did well to hold on in fact, given the patterns across the Midlands (outside of the big cities) in general.

Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat - Westmorland and Lonsdale)

The most low-profile centre party leader since Clement Davies, surely. The only thing of note he's done since his election was his stumbling over questions about his dubious views on certain social issues. Still, he's built up an impressive following in his own seat and it is by far the 'safest' of the eight held by the party.

Marion Fellows (SNP - Motherwell and Wishaw)

Taught business studies at the same time as being an active trade unionist, apparently. Was a councillor in North Lanarkshire prior to being elected to the Commons.

Suella Fernandes (Conservative - Fareham)

Stood in Leicester East in 2005 and for the London Assembly in 2012.
