In its current form? Absolutely. I have advocated as much for years: this is the meaning of reality or nothing.

I certainly support a major overhaul of the game, but not within the context of this article. If this game is dead and deserves to be ended, then the same things justifying that will inevitably occur for any other type of simulator. Saying that a new version will create a game not worthy of being ended is essentially saying, "there are a couple dozen old forum members who used to play this game extensively and who don't anymore; getting them back will save everything". There are hundreds of people who are active on the forum. I think the real problem with the game - and we see this correlate pretty well with ebbs and flows in activity - is the percentage of members who are zombies. Weird, but often true.

But yes...this is exactly why we need three regions right now. Finding candidates for regional office at the moment is impossible (look at the Midwest, Pacific, and even the Northeast - which requires a lot of dredging each time to make happen). And if we're going to fix things, then that means people have to check their egos ("muh region is great and has no problems") at the door.

It's time for a 3 regions map basically. There are TOO MANY offices.

what about eliminating regional governments entirely and having a somewhat bigger, bicameral federal government instead?

Alienates too many people; will never be enacted

But let's be clear here. Crystal clear. People like Griffin (and there have been plenty like him over the years) have no interest in making the game better, because they are the problem. Tin pot fantasy dictators marshalling grand armies of drones across a battered and broken landscape: that is the reality of the game at present.

Says the guy who's been playing for a decade, masquerading his own fantasy for destruction as a solution for everything
