In the light of Senator Talleyrand's resignation, as the, now, longest-serving Senator (sigh) - it is my responsibility to manage Senate business until a new Speaker has been elected .

I am now seeking nominations for the role of Speaker.

True, but a competative election for Speaker, would be better in my view then one that is not. And we have such great options, we cannot pass up a competative contest.

Third Cris.

Love you too Blair. Smiley

I have no issues with the election being competitive, frankly, wherever it happens, we need it.
