You won by 2 according to me.

So likely by 3-4 (because it appears I haven't counted all the votes)

Wow, it was really close after all. I'm really curious of the official final count.

fun fact: there were zero [1] kalwejt [2] dkrolga voters, and only one [1] dkrolga [2] kalwejt voter (dereich).

the polarization is real.

Another interesting observation is that this could have easily been a Dkrol win had the rest of the game that voted against Kalwejt actually bothered to engage with their voters in some capacity instead of spending all weekend pipedreaming about a new game. Labor (at least at the time each individual voter cast his or her ballot) was 35% of the electorate - I think that's the largest share we've ever seen - and we still only won by 4. In terms of Labor turnout as a share of the party, we were about average in turnout (actually higher than the presidential election, which was embarrassing). I count somewhere between 15-20 "missing" votes in terms of who should have turned out for the game to have the same turnout as Labor did. I haven't actually broken down vote preferences by party and faction but it looks Kal only got about a quarter of the non-Labor vote.

It would have been a bloodbath had anybody else actually tried.

Ugh. I missed voting. Had I been able to, I would have voted for Kalwejt, who was the only candidate who responded affirmatively to a full reset of the game, although Truman and DKrol have been receptive to at least some change, so that's a start.

There was a pre-election poll showing I could win in the last round. It could have been just a good polling sample for me (maybe my demographic voters have landlines). Now that votes are in, in reality, did I have enough high preferences to come close to winning if I made it to the last round?

I haven't looked in detail, but basically you would need a dozen more first preference votes to even make it to the last round, and more votes than that to win it
