I can't really rank them completely, but I'll try to split them into "Good", "Bad", and "Meh"

Good:

Liberty Party
Free Soil Party
Libertarian Party
Reform Party

Meh:

Anti-Masonic Party
Constitutional Union Party
Prohibition Party
Green Party

Bad:

Nullifier Party
American Party
Southern Democratic Party
Greenback Party
Socialist Labor Party
Socialist Party
Union Party
States' Rights Democratic Party
Progressive Party
American Independent Party

I'm going to have to do more research on the few that I left off to classify them.

My best shot at all of them (I don't expect everyone to rank all of them though):

1. Free Soil Party - Awesome party, combining antislavery sentiment with the more Democratic approach to economic policy, vs. the more Clayite approach that the Republicans would later take.
2. National Democratic Party - Anti-imperialist, classical liberal goldbugs? Count me in.
3. Libertarian Party - Needs to find more credible candidates and get a better Presidential result one of these years, but overall they're oriented similarly to me.
4. Liberty Party - Mega props for abolitionism, but I could do without the Puritan moralism. Also some minus points for running against the Free Soil Party later on.
---would have considered joining parties above this line---
5. Reform Party
6. Green Party
7. Progressive Party (1924) - No I'm not a Progressive, but 3rd parties get bad fast beyond this point.
8. Constitutional Union Party - Big minus points for trying to ignore slavery (as if that had worked before), but if you lived in the South, this was a great option on the eve of the Civil War. I also have a soft spot for them because I descend from some Southern Unionists who after the war used their support for this party as evidence of their Unionism.
9. States' Rights Party - Not sure about this party, but they don't seem to have been a segregationist party like the Dixiecrats. As far as I can tell, they were more of a tax protest party.
10. Straight-Out Democratic Party - Although sometimes called the Bourbon Democrats, they seem to have been more of an ex-copperhead group than a classical liberal group like the later Bourbon Democrats.
11. People's Party
12. Anti-Masonic Party
13. Greenback Party
14. Progressive Party (1948)
15. Socialist Party
16. American Party - I hate the Know-Nothings but it's worth mentioning that, like the Constitutional Union Party, I have some evidence that distant ancestors of mine supported them.
17. American Independent Party - Being a segregationist party will result in a low rank, but some small props for nominating a black guy in 2008 (even though it was Alan Keyes).
18. Nullifier Party
19. Prohibition Party
20. Union Party
21. States' Rights Democratic Party
22. Socialist Labor Party - NOT the party of Debs, this is a joke communist party that is lucky to have ever placed 3rd.
23. Southern Democratic Party - Yeah, so about making a party dedicated primarily to being pro-slavery...

[edit: moved the 1948 Progressives down a few notches, I had forgotten how bad they were outside of Wallace.]

Of the one's I'm (at least somewhat) familiar with:

1. People's Party [An overall positive force, especially for standing up for black Southerners]
2. Free Soil Party [Anti slavery, but unlike the Liberty Party run by people who knew something about governing.]
3. Green Party [Mainly for their environmentalism, though I would rarely vote for them except as a protest vote.]
4. Liberty Party [Abolitionist]
5. Progressive Party (1924) [Not a fan of all of their policies, but preferable to either of the major parties in '24]
6 National Democratic Party [For their anti-imperialism]
7. Libertarian Party [At least their social policy is sane]
8. Reform Party [Pat Buchanan + Jesse Ventura = joke party, but still better than the others]
9. Anti-Masonic Party [William Wirt was okay, but this is basically persecution with a smile]
10. Greenback Party [Well, their hearts were in the right place...]
11. Prohibition Party [Prohibition was a bad idea, but it's understandable why one might have supported it at the time.]
12. Progressive Party (1948) [Just say "NO" to pinkos]
13. Constitutional Union Party [What platform?]
14. Socialist Party [I know this will come as a shock to some on this forum, but socialism doesn't actually work.]
15. American Party [Disgusting]
16. Nullifier Party [Not the worst Southern-rights part, but that's not saying much]
17. Union Party [Literally run by Nazi sympathizers]
18. States' Rights Democratic Party [Disgusting]
19. American Independent Party [Disgusting]
20. Southern Democratic Part [Didn't even try to pretend it wasn't racist. Absolutely awful.]

Would easily cast a vote for
1. Progressive Party (1924)-Love Fighting Bob, plus he was the only real choice in '24
2. Free Soil Party-Awesome anti-slavery, pro-common man party
Would probably vote for
3. People's Party-Love their rural focus and ideas, although some later Southern factions irked me a bit
4. Greenback Party-I really like their labor union stuff but they fall a bit as a one issue party in my mind
5. Liberty Party-Seemed a bit socially conservative, but abolitionism scores me MAJOR points
Might consider depending on the candidate
6. Green Party-Too fringy and tree-hugger for me in some cases, but I could support Nader
7. Socialist Party-I LOVE Eugene Debs, but later candidates aren't my cup of tea
8. Union Party-Had some good economic ideas, but the corruption and facist ideas of Long bother me
Probably not, but with the right candidate maybe
9. Reform Party-Ross Perot was awesome, but the party has become a joke since then (See Buchanan)
10. Progressive Party (1948)-Too close to Communists at the time, even if Henry Wallace was decent
11. Prohibition Party-Well, they're interesting to say the least, but I guess Clinton Fisk is okay?
Not getting my vote
12. Anti-Masonic Party-I don't hate the Masons, so...
13. National Democratic Party-Business Dems were just Wall Street shills
14. Constitutional Union Party-too wishy washy
Repulsive to me
15. Straight Out Democrats-Anti reconstruction is awful
16. Socialist Labor Party-Too leftist
17. American Party-As a Catholic, this just wasn't going to be a very favorable party to me
18. Libertarian Party-Anarcho-capitalism is not a philosophy I remotely find sustainable or agreeable
19. American Independent Party-Segregationist in its onset, and since then too far right to like
20. States' Rights Party-Racists
21. States' Rights Democratic Party-More racists
22. Southern Democratic Party-Terrible folks who wanted to preserve slavery
23. Nullifier Party-God-awful party who wanted to undermine the whole nation plus they were pro slavery

1. Liberty- Abolitionist FFs before their time
2. Free Soil- Anti-slavery FFs
3. Socialist- Not perfect, but Debs is a massive FF and Thomas is pretty good too
4. Progressive (1924)- better than the alternatives
5. Progressive (1948)- ^^
6. Greenback- Pro-labor during an anti-labor period
7. Socialist Labor- A bit too radical, but would've considered them over LBJ
8. People's/Populist- Good, but given that they were more focused on rural interests and I don't live in a rural area, I'm ranking them a little lower
9. Union- pretty good overall
10. Green- They can be better than Democrats sometimes, but GMO scaremongering is unfounded and they run too many conspiracy theorists
11. Anti-Masonic- made a good protest vote during Trail of Tears
12. Libertarian- They're right on some issues for the wrong reasons
13. Reform- Personal vehicle
14. National Democrats- In love with the gold standard too much
15. Prohibition- literally anti-freedom
16. Constitutional Union- cowards on slavery issue
17. American/Know-Nothings- Racist xenophobes (also my ancestors were German catholic immigrants so self interest at stake here)
18. American Independent- Segregationists that evolved into far-right crazies
19. States' Rights- Racism masking as states' rights is terrible
20. Dixiecrats- Racists
21. Straight-Out Democrats- Confederate apologists
22. Nullifier- HPs, tried to protect the slave power
23. Southern Democrats- The worst

17 through 22 are interchangeable.

Would Vote For:
1. Progressive Party (1924)-One of the best political parties in American history with a solid platform and great candidate
2. Free Soil Party-First anti-slavery party to exercise a practicable influence in American politics as well as have a good strategy for its elimination.
3. Liberty Party-The first anti-slavery party in general but seem to have been pretty naïve/impracticable about it.
4. People's Party-A great political movement that stood for government taking a strong role in the public's interest. However, their rural focus was mistaken and I'm skeptical of their free silver doctrine.
5. Greenback Party-Similar to above, but more so with regards to their inflationism.

Generally Positive:
6. Socialist-Probably wouldn't have ever voted for them (at least until their later years when that was immaterial since they tried working within the Democratic Party) at least on a national level, but nonetheless a party that took a principled stand for the working-class.
7. Reform Party-Perot hardly was a progressive candidate but he at least was a good corrective to the neoliberalism of both major parties.
8. Union Party-A distinct mix of the good and bad-ie both Huey Long economic populism as well as quasi-fascist tendencies.
9. Socialist Labour Party-One must admire their tenacity in advocating their particular brand of Marxism if nothing else.

Generally Negative:
10. National Democratic Party-Not a fan of laissez-faire Bourbon Democrats.
11. Greens-Represents everything wrong with the modern left including its quasi isolationistic pacifism, anti-science stances, elitism etc. as well as ensuing Bush's election in 2000.
12. Anti-Masonic-Rather overly paranoid imo, although their more nationalistic tendencies as well as their role in pioneering the development of modern political parties are a positive.
13. Prohibition Party-Not supportive of Prohibition.

Bad:
14. Progressive Party (1948)-A well-meaning party led by an able reformist, but also highly dangerous due to being dupes of Moscow at the height of the Cold War and undermining Truman's candidacy.
15. Libertarian Party-I disagree with virtually all tenets of Libertarian ideology, especially since the party itself represents a particular extreme variant of it

Terrible:
16. American Independent Party-Least bad of the various racist/Anglo-Saxon supremacist parties since Wallace at least had some populist tendencies and opposed Vietnam.
17. Constitutional Union Party-A bunch of useless Moderate Heroes, ignored the great moral question of the day
18. States' Rights Party-Bunch of terrible Dixiecrats
19. States' Rights Democratic Party-See above. Additionally it should be remembered that unlike the AIP, the Dixiecrats were a largely urban, middle-class movement that essentially was a direct ancestor of the Tea Party.
20. Nullifier Party-A treasonous lot dedicated to States' Rights dogma and sectionalism.
21. American (Know Nothing) Party-A horrible bunch of anti-Catholic and xenophobic bigots. Would have deprived a large portion of the American population of basic civil rights.
22. Straight-Out Democrats-Neo-Confederate party that wished to reestablish white supremacy and overturn Reconstruction in the South
23. Southern Democratic Party-The single worst party in American history bar none, being dedicated to nothing less than the destruction of the Union and the perpetuation and expansion of the institution of human slavery.

The rest of the parties either suck and/or are racist.

Is the second qualifier necessary? Was there a racist party that didn't suck?

A party can suck without being racist though -  for example, I don't think the Socialist-Labor Party is racist.
