Thanks Peter, that clears it all up. I had to piece together the bill before I voted on the last ammendment. Cheesy

I would like to make a motion to bring this bill to a vote, if there are no more objections.

There appears to be no more debate, so I hereby open voting.

All senators in favor, vote "aye"; all against, vote "nay".

Yes.  Otherwise I wouldn't have pushed it to be brought to a vote.

Alright then I see no reason to vote against.

Out of curiosity, why are people voting "nay" when everyone that this affects has approved the change?

Maybe they hope True Dem wins and then can run again and keep his seat without an incumbent.

True Democrat plans to move to a different state in the Pacific when he's able to, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm more curious why any Senator in the region that houses the "swing voter from hell"would vote against it, especially if he plans to run for election soon.

This now has enough votes to pass; senators now have 24 hours to change their votes.

Because I favor, instead, a more total shake-up of the regions. For example: have a Northwest and Southwest, instead of Midwest and Pacific.

Honestly, DanielX, the chances of that happening are pretty much slim to none.

Under the new Constitution, it's going to be pretty much impossible to switch anything in the regions, given the amount of barriers it'll have to go through.

Thanks, King, as one NM'er to another! Cheesy

And thanks to all those who voted for this, and even to those who voted Nay because they wanted something more far-reaching - at least your heart was in the right place. Wink

I certainly hope I can still vote, but I do vote "aye" on this bill.

I'll need to write a bill that stops voting at strange hours. Wink

You can indeed.

With seven in favor to two against, this bill has passed.

I hereby present it to the president for his signature.
