Four more senseless deaths, all because the government is too afraid to bring down the hammer on domestic terrorism.

I'm sure it was ISIS inspired.

I'm sure it was not. ISIS is not a threat on American soil - at all. I'm sure ISIS is a threat to Americans in the Mideast - but not on American soil.

Here is an article in which ISIS apparently takes credit.

ISIS inspired. Key word-inspired.

Yeah, I am sure a man with a Muslim name entered a Marine Recruiting office and shot the Marines because he is a White supremacist zealot, a communist revolutionary, or an IRA sympathizer....Roll Eyes

But it was not ISIS. They have taken credit for attacks like this before, but it was not them, for they are not on American soil.

I'm not saying it was ISIS. I am saying it was ISIS inspired. Big difference. One does not need to be part of ISIS to commit a terrorist act that otherwise might not have happened without their online propaganda campaign.

This has all the hallmarks of a lone wolf self-radicalized (but inspired by an outside group) attack from someone who wants to send a political message. Which would make it a terrorist attack.

Of course, the shooting at the Charleston Church met all the same criteria yet for some reason the Feds didn't consider that a terrorist attack.

I doubt all the people who said Charleston was the collective fault of "American White supremacist society" will be saying this attack was the result of religiously fanatical Muslim society.

Tragic. It was a gun free zone. Seriously? More proof that they don't make America safer.

Very weird to have something like this happen so close to home. I guess I won't be reading social media commentary for the next week.

It's the ing military. I'm sure that the people who work there very well could have had guns if they wanted; the sign obviously was meant to apply to people coming into the building on a daily basis. Even if not, the way in which this happened, there wasn't much time at all for a response. Reports say he used an AK-47 and that there were about 30 rounds fired into the recruiting office - takes about five seconds to offload that many from someone who has any basic marksmanship skills. Five seconds - four dead. Gun nuts that have never been in combat who think that people can go from 0 to 60 in a second, accurately taking out moving targets, are loony-tunes.

Horrible. Just horrible. Thoughts and prayers for all affected. It's not time to play politics on this. People died. I had some friends on a youth group mission in Chattanooga and they were put on lockdown. How scary it must have been for people around town to not know what was happening.

yeah of course a man with a muslim name can't possibly have any motives besides islamist terrorism.if it had been a white guy, though, i'm sure it would've been due to mental illness, right?

But, the obvious assumption is that this was a lone wolf ISIS sympathizer.  I think everyone would be shocked if that wasn't the case.

On the news last night, there was a comment that the gunman's father for a period of time, until he was removed therefrom, was on some sort of terrorist watch list.

Yeah, that seems to be the prevailing case in a vast majority of spree shootings by white people besides the recent Charleston shooting. Just like when a Kuwaiti with a father on a terrorist watch list who happens to be Muslim usually is inspired by radical Islam.

Face it, you are finding chickenshit reasons to paint me as a racist. It would work if only the facts didn't get in your way.
