Lyndon B. Johnson finds himself the latest U.S President to be voted off the island in what was the most intense partisian round of voting yet.

Also, in other results, the poll that I conducted in the last round shows that 2/3 of you all approve of the tie-breaking system I've been using of the one hour overtime period.  The other 1/3 of you feel there is a better way to decide ties.   Well,  I'd like to please everyone, but that's impossible.  So I'm gonna have to go with the majority.  The one hour tie-breaker will be used for the rest of the game.

Also, one other announcement and then I'll fire the starting pistol for this round of voting.  I've asked Governor Wildcard to be my backup.  If I am ever not around at midnight eastern time, he will be the one to close the old thread, count the votes, eliminate the president, and start the new thread.

Anyways, that's it from me.   On to voting.  Will we have another partisian round, or will the Dems and Repsl work together on this one.   Only one way to find out.  So fasten your seatbelts.   HERE WE GO.

And voting does end at midnight eastern time, just in case you didn't know.

Sheesh.   I didn't realize this was so dramatic for you all.  Wink  I just want to have a little fun, but you all are really into it.   Well I just gotta ask one thing, whether or not FDR or George W. Bush get eliminated this round or whether they go on to win, does it make their presidency any better or worse?

Well, after 10 rounds of a fairly cooperative part to get rid of the dead wood, the volcano has finally errupted and we have an out right war going on.   I'm just gonna do my job and count the votes.   SO here's how it stands so far:

FDR - 14

George W. Bush - 12

Abraham Lincoln - 1

Herbert Hoover - 1

Chester A. Arthur - 1

I ain't gonna be pissed if W goes this round.   I'm happy he's lasted as long as he had given that at one point it looked like he was gonna be the first to go.

Remember that this is a game, ie, don't take it seriously

You wouldn't be saying that if we were voting off Reagan.

Yes I would.

Anyone whose happiness depends on the results of a game like this needs to step away from the computer and find a life.

AMEN Jake.   That's by far the best post on this entire thread.

If we ever do something like this again where it's clearly partisan (We could do it with the senate perhaps) we should divide up into two camps, Dems and Reps. Each side ranks five Presidents they want to keep off the island. After each five rounds, the lowest ranked President would be put on the island to be voted on. This way, people like FDR or Reagan wouldn't be voted off until at least Round 20 or so, but they aren't protected the whole time.

You know when I started this game I thought about dividing them up into two different tribes, but not Democrats and Republicans.  The problem is that there are more Republican Presidents than Democrats, plus where would you put the Whigs and John Adams (Federalist)?   I thought about doing it 1 termer and 2 termer.  THe problem is the tribes wouldn't be even.  Cause here's what you would have.

One Termers:

John Adams
John Quincy Adams
Martin Van Buren
William H. Harrison
John Tyler
James K. Polk
Zachary Taylor
Millard Fillmore
James Buchanan
Franklin Pierce
Andrew Johnson
Rutherford B. Hayes
James Garfield
Chester Arthur
Benjaman Harrison
William McKinlye
William H. Taft
Warren Harding
Calvin Coolidge
Herbert Hoover
John F. Kennedy
Lyndon B. Johnson
Gerald Ford
Jimmy Carter
George H. W. Bush

Two Termers:

George Washington
Thomas Jefferson
James Madison
James Monroe
Andrew Jackson
Abraham Lincoln
Ulysses S. Grant
Grover Cleveland
Theodore Roosevelt
Woodrow Wilson
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Harry Truman
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Richard Nixon
Ronald Reagan
Bill Clinton
George W. Bush

You could probably play around with them and make them even.  The problem is all the big names are in the 2 termers and all the ones nobody cares about are in the one termers.

Alright all you bitter partisan Presidential Survivor voters, time to give this poor thread a rest.   We've gone through 9 pages and 121 posts in the last 24 hours, but voting for round 14 is now closed.   Results will be up momentairly.

Okay, well there was some controversy with one of the votes, but fortunantly it wouldn't have made any difference either way.   So here are the final results of the Round 14 vote:

Franklin D. Roosevelt - 22

George W. Bush - 18

Herbert Hoover - 2

Abraham Lincoln - 2

George H. W. Bush - 1

Chester A. Arthur - 1

FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, YOU SPENT MORE TIME IN THE WHITE HOUSE THAN ANY OTHER MAN EVER HAS OR WILL AGAIN, BUT THAT WILL NOT BE THE CASE THIS TIME.   YOU ARE THE 14th U.S PRESIDENT TO BE VOTED OFF THE ISLAND.   IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GO

PRESIDENT FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT, THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN

<torch extinguished>

Round 15 thread will be up in a few minues, so everyone just take a big glass of water and relax for a few minutes before you start going after one another.  Smiley
