POLL DEFINITIONS

old member: first joined Atlasia in 2013 or earlier
newer member: first joined Atlasia in 2014 or 2015

Abolish: end the game entirely and leave it to rest in peace
Reboot: end this iteration of the game and start a "sequel" that does not maintain Atlasia's existing rules or laws
Reform: modify/replace the existing constitution but maintain legal continuity with the current iteration of the game
Status Quo: continue the current iteration without making any substantial reforms to the "fabric" of the current game

Sorry if I wrote the explanations poorly- consider "reform" to be an inherent part of "reboot". I don't know of anyone who wants to start the game over but keep everything exactly the same Smiley

Why don't we try reforms? Or put it up to a democratic vote whether we want a restart or not?

I'm against dissolution mostly because I'm worried those traitorous people who voted "abolish" get their way and Atlasia's gone forever. If we restart, we need to guarantee that we don't just kill it off forever.

It's awesome that you're interested in this game because there's so little new blood.

This is a public opinion poll to determine for policymakers what the outcome of any democratic vote might look like.

And an issue most people seem to have with reforms is that historically they've mostly been useless or made things worse, and that even when a majority supports the idea of "reform" they are diametrically opposed about what exactly those reforms should look like

Been tried (and very very frequently) for well over five years now. The reason why reform movements always fail here is because structural flaws built into the game make it very easy for the knuckle draggers to block everything of use.

I still don't think we should give up that easily. Let's try a Constitutional Convention. If that doesn't work, I'll listen to well-thought-out restart plans. As many people have said (including Senator Kalwejt of your own party) just dissolving without a plan is ridiculous.

dissolve then have a constitutional convention for a new game maybe? that way people can't "walk away from the table" and just vote down the new constitution if they prefer the status quo

67.8% in favour of rebooting and reforming. Great news!
We can reboot this game with reforms.

As I clarified above, "reboot" inherently means doing reforms while you start over (it isn't a fresh start if you don't change anything!). "Reform" is the option for maintaining Atlasia's current history/precedent/laws and changing the game exclusively within the framework of the game

Option 2/Reboot as I am technically an older member. Emphasis needs to be on fewer, more meaningful offices in whatever system is set up.

just editorializing but I agree with this, and elections should be more frequent
