It is with sadness that I must move the following legislation into debate in the Senate. I'm happy with  any amendments or ideas from other Senators, but due to the crisis it's vital that action is taken as soon as possible. These actions are necessary to save our nation

I think all of us are dissapointed in many ways with the way the federal government has reacted, as we have faced the unique situation of an Attorney General refusing to act while prosecuting what can only be a frivolous witch hunt, a Vice-President running away from the country and engaging in rather curious actions, and open inactivity from the White House.

In that sense, and if our goverment cannot provide the leadership we need to emerge from this crisis, the Senate has a moral duty to stand up and protect the Republic, and this Resolution brings forth the armed forces, raises funding for them, prepares the government for a conflict and formally declares war on this ridiculous revolution, which I would be happy to support.

The President has announced he will have internet access in the upcoming hours, so today might prove a very decisive day indeed.

I do have a small concern here, because beyond saying control belongs to the "Army of Atlasia" it remains unclear who is leading these forces, and we must be mindful of the key importance of civilian power to defend the nation.

Who should be responsible for this forces, I ask?

Let's pass this as quickly as possible.  I am hearing from countless MW constituents begging for relief and action from the tyranny including my 85 year old grandmother whose 95 year old boss was brutally arrested at the craft store she owns by a bunch of kids with non-Minnesotan accents yesterday under the banner of TNF's tyranny.  At this point we don't know if the poor woman is alive.

Operational control would belong to the Atlasian Armed Forces, and of course the President would be commander in chief. I would also say we are not at war per se but facing an insurrection.

Fair point, I was just worrying of what would happen should these powers fall into the wrong hands.

Is there a named difference between a civil war and insurrection?

On the command issue, we can't take away command from the commander in chief. I'd support appointing a General of the Armies to lead the taskforce

No. But a civil war is not a proper war. Declaring war confers recognition, and we do not want to recognize his "government".

Fair enough, I'll amend the bill.

Nym90 would lead us into battle? That seems highly fitting.

Seriously though, I support this resolution. The President has failed to lead, so it falls upon the Senate to do it for him.

It won't matter. The workers of the Northeast will crush under foot the fascist thugs you've sent against them.

If so you might want to voice them before Nyman gets turned into a smoldering atomic ruin

As the Senate rules have been struck down for this emergency situation I hereby declare a final vote on this bill. All senators have 24 hours to vote.
