Just as a friendly reminder, the regularly scheduled Northeast Assembly elections are held next week.  All 5 seats will be up.  There will also be constitutional amendments on the ballot.

The deadline for getting on the Assembly ballot is Wednesday, August 19.

I've posted the voting booth for not so descriptively named Federal Amendment to the Constitution.  The booth is available here.

The booth is currently locked because it will open at 12:00 AM Eastern Standard time, which is 1:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time that is currently being observed in along the East Coast of the U.S. I will unlock it before going to bed, but please don't vote before 1:00AM or your vote will be invalid.  The booth will remain open until 11:59:59PM EST next Sunday, August 23 (a.k.a. 12:59:59AM EDT next Monday, August 24).  So you will have seven days to vote.

I've created the voting booth for the August Elections.  It is available here.

The voting booth is currently locked, since the election doesn't start until 1AM EDT (Midnight EST).  I will unlock the booth before I go to bed.  If that is before 1AM, please don't vote until after that time or your vote will not be counted.  You will have until 12:59:59AM EDT on Monday to vote, so there's no reason to rush.

Will the Competitive Elections amendment take effect this election if passed?

No.  It didn't specify that it would take effect this election and therefore will not take effect until October.  It technically doesn't come part of the constitution until after it is passed, which is after this election started.

Just as a friendly reminder, the regularly scheduled Northeast Governor and Northeast Assembly elections will be held next weekend.  There currently are 6 declared Assembly candidates, so 5 seats will be up instead of 3.  There will also be 2 constitutional amendments on the ballot.

The deadline for getting on the Assembly ballot is Wednesday, October 21.

Peeperkorn - here is your absentee ballot.  Obviously, it only includes candidates who have declared to this point.  Candidates may still declare or drop out until Wednesday, but I can't predict the future.  As of right now, there will be 5 Representatives in the next Assembly, but that could change, too.

Please vote by a response in this thread:

Absentee Ballot

This absentee ballot is for Governor, 5 Northeast Representatives and 2 Constitutional Amendments.

Votes for offices in this region are cast using PR-STV.  Voters who wish to preference more than one candidate should allocate a first preference for a candidate by marking a [1] in the space provided by that candidate's name, and proceeding to number as many preferences as they desire by marking a [2], [3], etc for as many candidates as they so desire.

A vote will be counted so long as the voter that casts it is eligible to vote in this election and casts a formal ballot. A vote is formal so long as it contains numbered preferences with no duplicate numbers. A ballot containing Roman Numerals is considered formal. A ballot in which candidates have been ranked a,b,c, etc is considered formal so long as no letter has been repeated, and so long as a single candidate has been ranked a, for as long as the letters are consecutive with no duplicate letters. A ballot is formal if the CJO can determine the intent of the voter without interviewing that voter.

Per past practice, write-in votes are only counted for a candidate if he or she publicly declares a willingness to receive write-in votes for the relevant office before the polls close in the Candidate Declaration Thread or writes in his or her own name on the ballot for the said office.

I've posted the voting booth for the Northeast's October Elections.  It is available here.  The thread is currently locked, as the voting booth doesn't open until 1:00AM Eastern Daylight Time.  I will unlock it shortly.

In order to vote in this election, you must be a registered voter in the Northeast that satisfies the 7-day residency and activity (i.e. at least 10 posts within the past 56 days) requirements.  I will work with the Secretary of Elections to determine eligibility if it is questioned, as federal election law generally governs.
