I'm sitting as a Conservative MP now. New Era has been merged with the Conservatives.

Can we grab some big beast from Atlasia to serve as head of state? President Duke?

I would support Duke. Absolutely.

Could we vote on this before Riley's bill if at all possible? I'd be fine with voting for his bill if we got the situation with the Head of State out of the way.

No, I'd much rather we didn't break the rules by going out of order. The only thing that would accomplish is allowing your bill to be voted on but not mine, correct? Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't think of anything else that would compel us to go out of order on these bills.

I'm going to formally move that we suspend the rules to immediately vote on the Presidency Act and then return to the regular order of business.

TNF, I guess you'll have to agree to take this up?

Aye.

We have the structures in place to allow a new, elected parliament to settle the rest of these matters.

I object to the amendment striking the two-thirds requirement, and move to vote on both of rpryor's amendments.

I support a 2/3 majority for electing the president for the reasons stated by Talleyrand.

I object to the amendment striking the two-thirds requirement, and move to vote on both of rpryor's amendments.

Why? 1d is literally a repeat of 1c.

Hahahahahaha, I thought it removed the whole acting President thing.. Objection removed.

Of course, but the rules should be created by an undoubtedly legitimate, elected Parliament. We are not the people's representatives until we stand for election.

The Conservative Party continues to support dissolving the provisional parliament and allowing the representatives of the people to handle these matters.

There is also the fact 3/5 of our body is 12.6 as opposed to an even 14 for 2/3.

I'll be voting NAY.

Me too, but I want to proceed to a vote, skip debate, and hurry so we can call elections.

I concur that Hash would be a good president, but why are we making it our habit to rush through these decisions?

Hagrid has declared that he wants the job. Why not at least formally figure out who's better, instead of doing what we've been doing: going with the first good idea, instead of trying to determine what the best idea is.

Because this is an elections game, Leinad. Our rules and government should be conceived by an elected Parliament, not the first twenty people who saw the thread and were interested. The Interim President will be swiftly declared, Parliament will be dissolved, and we will hold elections to determine the future of the game. As of now, we are unelected bureaucrats. Time to change that.
