I hardly think an odd number is necessary. Plenty of legislatures have an even number of seats all around the world. The rule is that a majority is necessary, and obviously 10 is not a majority, so 11 is needed. It would only be a problem if the legislature were divided into intractable opposing blocs of 10, which would run counter to the purpose of the game given the expressed interest of everyone in a multi-party system.

It would be entertaining to have a majority hinge upon a single seat in an 11-10 split rather than a 11-9 though.

You wouldn't say the same thing if the informal consensus had agreed "Sudamerica" was best, now would you? I won't be upset if "South America" is the name, as long as it comes after reasonable debate and a vote. It's the same logic of why it's incorrect to say that the Scottish Independence Referendum "failed," when actually, it succeeded: they voted, and went with what the majority thought was best.

I agree but we sadly just voted down the bill to dissolve this provisional parliament (the Conservatives, I note, supported it ) so it looks like we'll have to get through this.

I can see the rationale for the ban on foreign officeholders, but believe it should be discussed by a properly elected government and that it should be a topic for debate during the campaign.
