Wow.

I'm sure McCain just keeps feeling better and better about that decision.

McCain should have picked Thune or Pawlenty, they would have done well with Biden in the VP debate. Palin energized conservatives, I can't see a Trump/Palin ticket.

Sarah Palin is another RINO.

Her record in Alaska:
- Higher taxes
- 31% spending increase in 3 years
- refused to fight to keep abortion restrictions as state law

No wonder she is for Trump.

Gives chance to McCain to say what he really now thinks of his running mate.

Thune, Pawlenty, or, you know, Lieberman!

Consider the highlighted portion.  This is what Trump is doiing.  And he's gaining traction doing it because folks are fed up with their concerns being marginalized.  That's the political environment we are in today, and Trump has exploited it.

True. Trump would not be doing so well if he weren't hitting on something real. What he is doing is tapping into the zeitgeist. You know those poll questions that ask something like "understands people like you?" That's Trump. He gets what ordinary Americans are going through in this economy.

How the heck?

Ordinary Americans need abortions, universal healthcare, non-free trade, and are born into a multimillionaire's home.

Listen: Trump's father owned $300,000,000 by the time Donald Trump was eighteen. Trump didn't go from zero to a billion. Ordinary Americans never have the luxury of owning half of Manhattan. I won't get that luxury by working 100%.

To be clear, Trump is not an ordinary American. He is an exceptional American.

However, despite his extraordinary wealth and success, it seems that he has his finger on the pulse of the American people. It's a connection that only the greats have, and that is particularly rare among people of Trump's level of exceptionality. The best comparison I can think of for someone that is clearly not an ordinary American having this sort of understanding of ordinary Americans is probably FDR.

Maybe that's why she likes Trump. Both are clearly bad parents.

And in a dark room, Fiorina cried for hours. (Palin endorsed Fiorina during her 2010 senate run)

Some of the above is hyperbole, but the highlighted part needs to start registering with people.  The response to Trump causes me to think that the real reason folks are so peeved is that Trump's candidacy is a threat to the special cows of any number of political elites (particularly the special cows that crap out campaign cash).

The other thing that people don't seem to get is that folks tend to think that Trump is more exceptional than most of the other candidates being offered up.  Trump made money out of money.  Jeb Bush didn't, and his brother did nothing but LOSE money in business.  (W, the businessman, was the world's biggest "poser" I can think of.)  Folks can tell you what Trump did and why that translates into Presidential timber.  The rest of the field has the look and feel of folks who have "just been there" but who have no accomplishments; they're running for President because it's "their turn" or they've been around and are "qualified".  Trump LOOKS more accomplished than the rest of the pack in the eyes of the average citizen, and they're not wrong.

"Did Ronald Reagan and Vanna White have a child and drop it off in Alaska?"

-Robin Williams

That just shows you that Martin Bashir should have stood behind his remarks instead of resigning from MSNBC.

She would make a good VP, and could help Trump with women voters.

Palin's a jerk, and would reflect badly on Trump, who has actually done something in life.

Palin, though, as much as I have disliked her over the years, does understand what disaffected people want.  Had she taken her own POLITICAL career more seriously, it could be her, and not Trump, topping the polls (for now, at least).

Donald Trump
-supports a 14% wealth tax
-supports universal health care
-pro-choice
-against free trade
-against property rights
-donated to Hillary Clinton and Anthony Wiener

Sarah Palin
-Increased spending 31% in under 4 years
-Increased taxes numerous times
-Refused to fight for the pro-life position

Great ticket

dudeabides, this is off-topic, but what is Governor Bush's position on abortion?

I don't know, but I'll bet Columba Bush is the most pro-life of the Bush women.

George H. W. Bush was only pro-life while President; he went back to being pro-choice.  I'm nor sure where W is, but Barbara and Laura Bush are both pro-choice, as are W's daughters.
