Question: Which is more true?
#1
Trump has his finger on the pulse of a large portion of the GOP, he appeals to voters in a way no other candidate does.

#2
Trump's surge is a product of media attention. His supporters in polls are mostly low information voters.  Once the media attention shifts away from him his support will melt away.

He is the human manifestation of conservative anger at the GOP establishment, and he cuts through the smoke in a way that even other anti-establishment candidates like Paul or Cruz can't do.

Even though he's obviously not my preferred candidate, I don't think you can really blame his supporters for being angry at the establishment which promised change once they won a senate majority and didn't really deliver much. So while I don't and wouldn't support him, I certainly get why some do.
