Trump's surge is a product of media attention. His supporters in polls are mostly low information voters.  Once the media attention shifts away from him his support will melt away.

At first I really thought it was just a media fad, but there actually are a lot of crazy people out there that believe whatever Trump says because "he's not afraid to say what he thinks".  People are dumb.  Maybe the GOP needs to scrap the primaries all together and go back to letting the elites choose.
