Lumping in socialists with Muslims and gays and such is a stupid idea in my opinion. Socialism is an ideology, whereas the others are affiliations. I'm actually quite surprised that the secularists really don't like evangelicals. The question is just whether they approve of a well qualified nominee of their party, so I think too many people just automatically assume they're very religiously conservative no matter what.
