I would classify us as either a centrist or center-left forum. Voted center-left.

This is by American standards btw.

Are you defining the center as the center by American standards, or something else?  The American posters are, on average, further right than the European posters for example, but that's true in the real world too.

Center-left, if you average everything out.

Center-right, as most posters here are liberals.

Only like 2/3 of posters are non-hackish enough to not think everything is the GOP's fault according to a recent poll. Definitely at least centre left.

Liberal, in the sense that the majority of posters here subscribe to various beliefs that could be placed under that umbrella label (in the sense of the conventional definition of liberalism, as opposed to the American definition). I mean, there are only a handful of hardcore left wingers (TNF, SWE), actual conservatives (DC, Cathcon and TJ) and intellectually barren types (me) to provide any variety.

The average poster is center left, but the thoughts that get displayed the most by far are left-wing thoughts.

Compared to General Secretary Montgomery's AlternateHistory.com, this is definitely much more conservative. It seems centrist to me, at least.

I don't know what any of those terms mean without context.

Yeah, but to be fair, 90% of the AH.com political discussion isn't worthy of our 2012 board. That forum should stick to Alternate History and leave their commentary in their heads.

These terms are pretty meaningless if different posters can label social liberalism as center-left or center-right when they are referring to the same thing.

Easily left-wing, maybe closer to far-left.  If you are right-wing or far right you are labeled as a closed minded, racist, bigoted, Bible thumping idiot and are subject to major backlash and are subject to banishment petitions because you are right wing (look at CCSF).

You can be right-wing and not fit any of those criteria (see Torie, Badger, King, etc.). You on the other hand, fit all of the above like a glove. Smiley

Center-left as in (non-classical) liberal. There's a good bit of socialists, and a good bit of moderates, conservatives, and even a good bit of us libertarians, but overall it averages out to center-left liberal.

Or, if you use TNF's political spectrum, where 98% of people are right-of-center, it's center-right (again, non-classical liberals).

Generically 'liberal' overall but with this weird hawkish tendency.

Hawkish? Have you seen what they say about McCain and Graham?

Abe Shinzo's foreign policy has a net FP rating.
