Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

More generally speaking than the other thread, although obviously a lot of what's of interest about Abe these days is his foreign policy.

Anyway, Abe was doing some good things domestically early in his current tenure as Prime Minister, but overall, I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Japanese public and the institutions and mores of the Japanese state are the second Mrs de Winter, the Greater Japanese Empire is Rebecca de Winter, and Abe is Mrs Danvers.

His economic policy doesn't seem to have been very successful either. I don't see a reason to vote differently from the other poll.

An argument can be made that that's partly just because he lost interest in it. Which reflects even more poorly on him than otherwise.

Why are you calling him "Abe Shinzo"?  Everything I've seen calls him "Shinzo Abe".  Is either order acceptable for Japanese names?

Yes. 'Abe Shinzo' would be the preferred order within Japan.

With the exception of his horrible (and politically idiotic) war crimes denial/apologism and certain related authoritarian tendencies, a massive FF in light of both his domestic and foreign policy.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
