Ugh, f**king Cardin, now filibuster is probably out of reach. Sad In Maryland, a primary challenge might be worth a try.

Good luck trying to primary someone based on their opposition to a deal that the vast majority of the public opposes, especially when he's not even helping to kill the deal.

Yes, Republicans and their media surrogates are good at conning a large segment of the American populace in to opposing what's not just in their best interest, but the best interest of the world. Glad you can recognize that.

Well, it's bad when a Senator who is in a foreign policy position considers the foreign policy deal bad.

Well John Bolton is trotted out as a 'Foreign Policy expert' and he's clearly got no idea what he's talking about half the time, actually most of time tbh

Vast Majority? That's taking it a bit too far

Reid is trying a new method to avoid a veto.

Personally I'd rather have Obama veto it than it be filibustered. Better way of sticking the middle finger to warmongerers.

I wish Colin Powell hadn't served as Bush's Secretary of State, because otherwise he's always been a good voice on post cold war foreign policy

He's easily the person with the highest reputation in the world to be destroyed by the Iraq War.

I have been a DWS supporter since 2010, and a strong one at that since 2012, but not any longer. Like Cory Booker, and possibly Joe Manchin, I hope to see them all lose re-election.

Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), and John Sarbanes (D-MD) all support the Deal. Democratic supporters are up to 115.

Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL) is a no. Democratic defectors are up to 16, opponents need 43 to override an Obama veto. 27 more no votes are needed from the 57 or 47.36% undeclared Democrats (this includes leaners).

He really is the worst Dem in congress by far.

In a strongly Democratic district, I may add.

Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Ron Wyden (D-OR) will all support the Deal. Democrats have the 41 votes needed to filibuster, hopefully they can get more.

Only Cantwell is left, though Reid will need his procedural maneuver to work assuming some Democratic Senators don't support the filibuster.

Yeah, I think so.

So it looks like it all comes down to Cantwell. I'm really surprised she's held out this long.

Reps. David Cicilline (D-RI), Lacy Clay (D-MO), Bill Foster (D-IL), Ron Kind (D-WI), and Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) all support the deal.

Rep. Brad Ashford (D-NE) is now officially a no.

Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) is a yes! Reid probably has the votes needed for a filibuster.

The Freedom Caucus is looking to delay the Iran vote, arguing that Obama has not fully complied with Corker-Cardin.
