It's going to be like that flag burning amendment, isn't it?

I can't believe that would have passed if Joe Lieberman hadn't voted no.

The info coming out on these side deals regarding Iranian self-inspection may make the vote even on sustaining the veto uncomfortably close.

Off topic, but a petition recently showed up of 340 American rabbis supporting the deal. Among them was the (just retired) Chief Rabbi of my Hillel (who happens to be Orthodox).
http://www.ameinu.net/newsroom/press-release/340-rabbis-urge-congress-to-support-nuclear-deal-with-iran/
I also did a poll of the Rabbi of the (Conservative/Masorti) synagogue where I grew up. He's in favor also.

IAEA is saying that those reports are misinterpretations of the truth.

There's a fair deal of controversy there with the original AP article.

I would like to apologize for the comments I made to my fellow tribe members who support the Iran Deal. It was inappropriate and especially after today, when I got a taste of my own medicine at work, I realize I was out of line.

I hope Horus and whoever else I may have offended accept my apology.

Moving on, those 340 Rabbis are members of Ameinu, correct? a progressive group in the Conference of Presidents?

They are vastly outnumbered by fellow  Conference members:

Orthodox Union
Rabbinical Council of America
Hadassah
AIPAC
CAMERA
AJC
ADL
B'nai B'rith
JINSA
ZOA

and possibly others are all firmly and publicly against the Deal. Only, to my current knowledge, Americans for Peace Now joins Ameinu in supporting the deal from within the Conference of Presidents.

Sounds like deliberate leaks to misinform the public.

Interesting, and a relief to hear that it isn't what it's made out to be.  Still there will be commercials and politicians citing the AP.

Reps. Mike Honda (D-CA), Jerry Nadler (D-NY), and Jerry McNerney (D-CA) are all yes.

Nadler is the first NY Jewish Democrat to back the deal. He also represents Borough Park, home to one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities outside of Israel. Huge get for the White House!

This is what I call a caucus leader. Hopefully Obama can convince him to drop his support for Schumer.

Washington Post has in favor Senators and "leaners" at 31, with only 34 needed to sustain a veto.

Based on the "Undecided or unknown" list, here are Senators who have really just issued very vague non-committed statements:

Bennet
Coons
Cardin
Booker
Warner
Cantwell
Murray
Casey

Mikulski and Stabenow are just listed as unknown for no statements at all, but I have a tough time seeing them or the Washington ladies actually voting no. Or Bennet and Cardin for that matter...actually I don't see any of the above voting no, though a few might want to make a fuss about it before finally voting yes. So it seems all but certain the votes to sustain a veto in the Senate are there.

This is what Wyden said:

It's mind-boggling that all this people are still hesitating, tbh. This should be a no-brainer for any self-respecting Democrat hell, for any self-respecting politician.

Yes just needs two more undecideds plus all "leans yes" in order to hit 34.

I already don't like how neoliberal Wyden is, so if he votes against this, it'll definitely push me toward some third party in 2016.

Why are House Dems lagging so far behind the Senate ones in committing to a vote?
