The sheer absurdity of this may finally pry the media's eyes away from Trump

There is literally no pick up of this story by anyone other than the Washington Examiner.  jamesgilmore.com is still for sale, and Gilmore's official Facebook page hasn't been updated in weeks…and only has 64 "likes".

Can you feel the Gil-mentum?

Oh, when he gets elected President, the United States will become Gil-ligans Island.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of 17 men,
That Fox wanted to have debate
But only let in ten.

The Gov was a mighty moderate man,
The Senator his Floridian mate.
Ten candidates prepared that day
For a two hour debate, a two hour debate.

Republicans came near and far,
They all wanted to run,
If not for the courage of the RNC,
The Donald would have won, The Donald would have won.

The debate started off at 9 pm on the stage of Quicken Loans,
With Rafael,
And Huckabee too,
The Billionaire, and the Southern Belle,
The Neurosurgeon,
The Opthamologist and the College Drop-out,
Here on Gilmore's Isle.

Castro, that is gold.

Still virtually no media picking up on this story.  ABC News does have a new profile of him though:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/meet-jim-gilmore-potential-2016-republican-presidential-candidate/story?id=32670102

Is this his only public FB page?:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jim-Gilmore/113147925363204?ref=br_rs

No one has commented there since July 8th.  Should we all go over there and demand details about his campaign rollout?

Also, is this forum the only place in the universe in which a thread about Jim Gilmore running for president racks up 30 replies within two days?

Reminds me of the Chafeemania that swept this place for a couple days. I suppose joke candidates are fun to talk about.

I'll take a guess. Maybe he'll travel to New Hampshire. And then renounce his citizenship and enter Canada.

He's filed paperwork with the FEC, so I guess he's in:

http://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2015/07/29/jim-gilmore-presidential-paperwork/

I guess, as per his previous comments to Newsmax, he'll make an announcement about it on Thursday.

That Facebook page isn't his, it's just the one the Wikipedia bot sets up for everything on Facebook, so it's not fair to act like it hasn't been updated.

Its not like that many people knew about Jimmy Carter, and I bet a lot of the people who are supporting Bernie Sanders were only dimly aware of him before.  Its not too late for a wave of Jimmentum to sweep Gilmore to victory.

I just watched Gilmore's performance on Fox News. He was interviewed for about 15 minutes, and got pretty tough questions, unlike Carson, who did not a couple of nights ago. He handled himself very well, and seemed quite knowledgeable,  particularly on foreign policy, but also on other issues. Watch him to break 1% soon. He's placing his chips on New Hampshire. His southern accent will slow him down there, I think, which is quite distinctive.

Can people with Youtube accounts track where viewers of their videos are arriving from?  I'm hoping that the Gilmore campaign (such as it is) tracks most of the views of that video to uselectionatlas.org, and starts following this thread.
