From Politico: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/07/house-conservative-john-boehner-ouster-120742.html?hp=l2_4&cmpid=sf

Mark Meadows from North Carolina's 11th district is trying to "vacate the chair" of the Speaker.

His Wikipedia page describes him as a fairly stereotypical Tea Partier. He voted against Hurricane Sandy funds, introduced a bill to impose sanctions on anyone who does business with Hezbollah, signed the Grover Norquist pledge, and was a key player in pushing the Republicans towards supporting the shutdown in 2013.

Meadows.

Anyway, just reading his profile on Wikipedia it says he has been a Chairman of a County Republican Party and a former small business owner. He is also married also. I am just shocked he doesn't understand how politics works given his background. Maybe he is looking for attention because he is jealous of firebrands like Cruz and Trump getting all the press. Still, look at how Cruz got played by McConnell and other Republican Senators over the weekend on the Senate Floor.

The only reason Meadows is in Congress is because of gerrymandering. If not for gerrymandering Health Schuler(D) would still probably be in Congress.
